why do you do something like this I was
in a you know difficult Place personally
Jonathan Bush the CEO of a fast growing
company and father of five children was
going through a painful divorce when a
friend suggested he joined the Nova
Marathon
team he was up for the challenge I do
feel like I am on uh on some new sort of
Latter-day public television version of
Survivor and excited about the group the
idea of having something fun and
fabulous to look forward to seemed like
a wonderful gift at that that time but
he wasn't without his doubts I was a
little concerned with how much was going
on in my life that that would take last
place Jonathan we just finished our
third team training run this morning we
hope to have you with us next week hey
Jonathan D me Colin we just finished our
run had a good run in the rain today we
just had a run out here in the Mystic
lakes with the Nova team just want to
report to you uh on a great day in the
indoor track here tough I suppose that's
the profile that I represent in this to
some degree is people who just just
can't do it just not can't pull
themselves together because they've got
too much going on and I definitely am in
that
category unable to make the first
several weeks of Group Training due to
his hectic schedule Jonathan found the
motivation to train on his own Melissa
welcome back we missed you I ran a lot
during that time actually I ran more
then than I did for the 12 weeks
following running became more than just
exercise to Jonathan it became a way to
get in touch with a basic human Drive
the fundamental
underlying truth about happiness in The
Human Condition I think has something to
do with blank or die trying you know
that you are your most fulfilled as a
human being when you try to do something
that seems important to you or
absolutely commit yourself to go all the
way up against it uh until you just
can't go another step further and
marathon's a classic example of that and
that all you're going to do is just run
or die
trying this was a chance to actually
pour yourself into something and see if
you can do it
