Motion of No Confidence
If there is anyone,
one person defending the truth,
You will become a witness,
and uphold the truth.
You will be the witness;
you will make sure to
uphold the truth.
25 = Jigo, Parliament is stupid! (singing)
You are all "representatives" of the people,
you should come down here,
it is not us who need to come to you.
Head injury, critical!
Long live farmers! Long live farmers!
Everything (President) Jokowi said, we will record it minutely
Let us record that, don't try to back-stab farmers.
You should also fight for the evicted farmers in Kendeng, comrades.
We have won in high court,
Jokowi ordered his staffs to conduct environmental study for 2 more years,
But up until now, it hasn't started,
if this is the case, what should we do comrades?
Fight back!
You're still eager to fight?
Yes, we are!
Long live farmers! Long live farmers!
Kendari (A city in South East Sulawesi island)
- 26 Sept 2019
They used live bullets to disperse demonstrators
They don't want to only capture students; they want to kill us.
This bullet is one of the evidences.
It's still fresh
This one? Dead?
(sobbing)
Yes, yes, he's dead?
What?
He's dead!
The chief on Indonesia police (Kapolri) told us in his statement that
in our demonstration, no student had died,
only passed out and injured,
But the fact is that our comrades,
Randi and Yusuf have become martyrs.
Motion of No Confidence
One dies, and thousands will grow... (singing).
That's for everyone who will join us in the fight
On the streets, we should stick together,
So we can easily get information.
The main action coordinator will be Rozi
I will also coordinate, so that
ignore any other instructions except if
they're coming from Rozy, me and your group.
Depok (West Java, Jakarta Greater Area)
We estimated that, if for example, our mass (from University of Indonesia) will stand in front of Mulia Hotel.
If something happens, just run to
our friends in the back of the GBK stadium.
We learned much from our action on the 24th of September,
so we could improve our coordination.
In the first action, we didn't expect that
police would charge us with tear gas
We are trying to make things organized
It meant what preparations should
we take for a demonstration.
I'm really nervous right now.
There are so many accusations that
students were influenced by hidden actors.
We are confident that our movement will be successful
and a lot of students from Jakarta and beyond will join us
it proves that our movement is real (serious) and
some people accused that our movement is about
overthrowing Jokowi funded by some parties
I can claim from my experience in the movement
that this is is purely our thinking and results from
consultation with our comrades,
among others.
It's as what my comrades said
- steered by people's interest.
Special Region of Yogyakarta
Regarding the Gejayan protest, we received many slanders,
they accused us of collaborating with other groups left and right.
The problem was that issues
that we brought up, our demands,
One group agreed to some of them
and also rejected others.
So in this case, we are in neutral position because all of our demands didn't satisfy both of these groups.
We hope that Indonesia becomes a democratic country.
It means that it will be open, and civil society will
have full participation
in the law-making process. It means that the people's voice
as represented by the parliament is a wrong one.
Because when those people went to become members of parliament, they affiliate to many political interest, so who can guarantee they will represent people's interest?
Medical Street Post
Makassar (South Sulawesi Province)
Some people will stay here, some will go with the protest, moving with the mass actions.
Like what happened before this, who knows if there's tear gas,
then some pass out.
Base Camp of Muhammadiyah Student Association - Surabaya, East Java Province
For today's action, at East Java police branch office, we demand that police needs to change their attitude.
Comrades, you all understand our aim?
Ready!
Ok, Let's rolling, long live student!
Long live student!
Solo (Central Java Province)
creation of workers' society (singing)
creation of the new order of society, the new Indonesia without New Order reign! (singing)
Come comrades, let us announce, in our hands lay the fate of a nation (singing)
Come comrades, let us sing, a song about liberation. (singing)
Under a tyranny reign.... Jokowi...(singing)
I walk down this path...(singing)
A millions time go down to a demonstration (singing)
for me is a right path (singing)
Long live student.
Yogyakarta (Java)
We are part of high school student group, we want to bring our aspiration
Jakarta, capital city of Indonesia
It's because there are some part of the new Criminal Code
that for us are unjust and inhumane.
For example, a clause on penalising homeless people.
They already have nothing.
They already have no home or property. Why do they get
fined for one millions rupiah/70 USD (for being homeless)?
For us that is not justice, and inhumane.
For today action, we want to demonstrate in front of the parliament
building so they hear the voice of Indonesia people.
Assalammualaikum...... Walaikumsalam....
STM (technical high school student) are coming...
bringing in our army.... (singing)
Ambon (eastern part of Indonesia)
Indonesia is not OK right now with you, Mr. President Jokowi, members of parliament,
with all of the government members
we want you to settle down this problem of bad laws and
stop militarism in West Papua and stop (repressions by) the police
and stop military members from
harassing students and all human rights activists!
Long live students...
Student movement that are built systematically, and grow nationally,
remember, we love our country, so that's why we are here, comrades!
Samarinda (East Kalimantan Province)
First, we want to emphasize, that the movement we build today, grows purely
from our consciousness, our worries,
from the oppressed, that today what's happened is a democratic crisis,
conducted by today's regime
This is not a puppet movement. this is purely created by the will of the oppressed people.
When we said motion of no confidence, there is no point of compromise, no bridge for negotiation
and so there is no point where we should meet with government officials.
We don't trust the ruling government bodies right now.
In the case of women rights, we felt that in those laws
there are many thing that oppressed women rights.
Also laws on workers (RUU Ketenagakerjaan), like I'm, I'm a woman worker,
Lampung (South Sumatera)
If for examples, they want to erase the right to have a day off during menstrual period,
so when I'm working and pass out at working time,
that would be an obstacle for them also rights?!
We are in this together, from Sabang (Sumatera island - the further west) to Merauke (West Papua - further east)
demanding that government pull out these irrational laws.
Erase them!
The truth is that education in Indonesia should be guaranteed for free because that was written in Indonesian constitution chapter 30 number 1.
Free education is the rights of the people.
Indonesia is the state, the education should be the responsible of the government, but in practice,
this government doesn't do any of this. Should we just stay silent?
Fight back!
Are we not not moved by this?
Fight back!
- Long live the people!
- Long live!
- Long live the people!
- Long live!
We are from workers union, fighting the struggle for workers to have
a better future along with university and high school students.
Malang (East Java)
"If you don't dare to ask any more," (poet)
"we all will become victim of these directives"
"Do not lock up your words"
"If you serve that fear"
"We will prolong lines of servitude" (poet)
Fight back!
Long live student, long live the people!
Long live farmers, long live the people!
Release all those captured students all over Indonesia,
all of those being arrested arbitrarily,
bring to the court, police officials that are responsible for torturing, beatings of students already in detention,
being crushed by their boots and so on. That's our demand.
And then, other demands, punish corporations responsible for
forest fires and revoke their permit.
Government should release these companies' names because until now,
Environment Ministry hasn't opened the data.
We are pushing this so that the public will know and revoke their permit.
This should be a way for this regime to reflect on,
all of this crime since the attempt
to weaken KPK (anti corruption body), all of these bad laws.
Makassar (South Sulawesi)
All these bad laws, labor law, land law, KPK law... they all just symbolize
if these laws don't get passed, will social problem disappear?
farmers will prosper? workers wage will go up?
Government rules no.78 and labor laws that just get passed will have direct implication to us, you will someday become a worker or
you're a workers now, our wage calculation is not based on our needs anymore
but depend on economic growth.
police sir, police sir, please give us you smile (singing)
Semarang (Central Java)
we will give a smile to you (singing)
Police sir, police sir, give us some smile (singing)
we will give a smile to you (singing)
your job is to serve, your job is to protect (singing)
police sir, police sir, please don't disturb us (singing)
Long live high school students, long live students!
Long live workers, long live farmers, long live fishermen!
Why do high school students join this protest?
Because our country now has been destroyed, that's why we are here.
We are here not because somebody told us to.
We are here on our own initiative because we care about this republic.
Long live high school students!
We don't need a smart leader, we only need one that is honest.
Police: You all should go back. Go back.
Police: We remind you to step back.
Today we are all in grieving because of two our comrades died in Kendari
along with one of our high school brother from around here.
Today, I'm Manik Margana Mahendra, all of us from the University of Indonesia,
we will let go our identity because we are part of Indonesian people.
We are part of Indonesian people.
We present you this rose for all of victims of
All of victims that have fallen, died.
All of victims that have been crushed and ostracised.
We fight against the oligarchy.
To all workers that have been ostracized and never get a proper life for their work.
To all farmers that have been ostracized and left behind to the hands of middlemen.
To all of Indonesian society that have been crushed and treated like doormat by this State rulers.
Today we are in grievances, but today we are united.
Today we present this rose to our motherland.
Today we present this flower also to policemen, for all the state security instruments in front of us.
Today we will not push for violence if our demands are being met by them, right?!
Revolution for now is a must, who want to have a revolution, please shout: fight back!
Fight back!
As a young woman in Indonesia, for brother Randi who just passed away,
we are from Muhammadiyah Student Association,
My comrades, we ask ourselves, how should we face this police action
that can easily destroy our brothers' lives.
First, create a truly independent team,
from Human Rights National Commissions, Ombudsman,
and it should involve student elements,
with transparency principle around it.
to investigate the cause of which our comrades,
late Randi and Yusuf Alkadawi were killed.
This deal should be signed here sir,
so we can be sure that Human Rights National Commissions are standing with us,
students, to solve this case.
I will read the points, we, who put our signs here, claiming that:
One, we will investigate the cause of killed student, late Yusuf and Randi at 26 September 2019 demonstrations.
Second, creating an independent investigation team
and transparent on the case of late of Yusuf Alkadawi
and late Randi.
not late than 3 days after signing this document.
and the creation of this team should involve student elements from the side of victims.
Thirdly, a legal assistance also witnesses protection process
to all witnesses and victim families.
They are in the susceptible state now
to the process of the completion of this cases.
This statement is signing on the base of law enforcement
and emphasizing on just and civilized humanity.
Please the director of Human Rights Commissions of Southeast Sulawesi sign this document
as a legal agreement with us.
Please.
They are being deprived of their rights (singing)
injured and hungry (singing)
Mother please allow our blood drops in this fight (singing)
for the liberation of our people (singing)
Don't be afraid,
I need to say that that bomb and weapons are not effective against us, students.
We are ready to die here.
We are ready to spill our blood in this place comrades.
For what?
For Indonesian people.
Before this we agreed that if we will be in the back of this march..
but the fact that our position is now a bit in the middle.
But we agreed that after 3 PM we will pull back our lines.
But this is a bit late and the security team said ok ok
But now we can see there are still larger number of masses.
The time now is 4 PM and we were agreed that will pull back at 4 PM.
Squad, get ready!
Fill your weapon!
Return fire, refill!
Retreat, retreat.
Save yourself, mom. Get out from here.
I was just returning home from my office.
