Dear viewers who are blessed by Allah SWT wherever you are
On this happy occasion, Insya Allah we will discuss the Honorable Prophet
He is Prophet Joseph'alaihissalam
which Allah SWT has singled out a long surah, more than a hundred verses about his story
And the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ once said in a hadith narrated by Imam Al-Bukhari
"Joseph 'alaihissalam is the honorable, the son of the honorable, the son of the honorable"
which means is Joseph the son of Jacob the son of Isaaq the son of Abraham 'alaihimussalam
and this is the Silsilah Dzahabiyyah (Golden Lineage) that no one has ever owned,
that is the best lineage, is Joseph the son of Jacob the son of Isaaq the son of Abraham 'alaihimussalam
are four successive generations, all are Prophet
As for the story of the Prophet Joseph 'alaihissalam,
Allah SWT has specified in the Qur'an in Surah Yusuf,
which Allah opens at the beginning of the surah,
"We relate to you, O Prophet (Muhammad) the best of stories..."
Ahsanal Qashash here, there are two opinions from among the annotator,
What does it mean Ahsanal Qashash?
Someone say Al-Qasas is taken from the word Al-Qash, that is: masdar from Fi’il Qassha-Yaqusshu, that is telling
It means, We (Allah) tell you Muhammad with the most beautiful story
with the most beautiful story
This means that no one tells a story as beautiful as this, because the one who tells the story is Allah SWT
So, back to masdar, which is the most beautiful story
If we make it into Indonesian, Ahsanal Qashash it means "In the most beautiful way of storytelling"
that is, Allah's way of telling stories
The second opinion, what is meant by Ahsanul Qashash,
Al-Qashash is isim, the meaning is Ahsanul Qishshah,
that is the best story, the most beautiful story
The first opinion from the side of storytelling is that the storytelling is beautiful because it is Allah SWT who tells the story,
The second opinion about the story itself is the most beautiful story
Wallahu a'lam, these two opinions are not contradictory,
that the story of the Prophet Joseph is the most beautiful story,
and the way of delivery is also the most beautiful, because Allah is the one who delivers it
Why is it called Ahsanul Qashash?
Syaikh Abdurrahman bin Nashir As-Sa'di rahimahullahu ta'ala said,
"That because in this story Allah SWT mentions many changes in conditions, from one condition to another"
from one test to another,
from test to pleasure
Such as, how Prophet Joseph 'alaihissalam who was tested, was thrown by his brothers into a well, until he was imprisoned,
and finally to the pleasure
It turned out that the series of tests turned out to be a pleasure, that is making him a ruler in the city of Egypt,
Treasurer of the Kingdom of Egypt
Also, the change of state from disgrace to glory,
where Joseph 'alaihissalam was a slave because he was sold by his brother, then finally became the ruler
Then from division to unity,
how his brother was scattered with Joseph, finally reunited by Allah SWT,
where previously the Prophet Joseph separated from his father, Prophet Jacob, then for tens of years they were returned again by Allah SWT
Then from the green season to the dry season, then the dry season to the green season again
From prosperity to poverty, from poverty to prosperity,
from denial to confession
Really the changes in conditions that Allah mentions in Surah Yusuf are extraordinary
Therefore, this is one of the reasons why the story of joseph is called Ahsanal Qashash, the most beautiful story or the most beautiful story.
As for the story of joseph, if we want to discuss it, it will be very long, because we have to interpret Surah Yusuf
but insya Allah, I have another assembly biidznillah about the interpretation of Surah Yusuf and we will convey it in detail
But on this occasion, we want to convey briefly
As for Joseph 'alaihissalam is one of the sons of Jacob 'alaihissalam
as we explained at yesterday's, Jacob 'alaihissalam married four women
among them Rahil, then Leah (Rahil's sister), then from their slaves, Bilhah and Zilfaa
From Rahil, Joseph and Benjamin were born, brothers
Joseph dan Benjamin are siblings, one father and one mother
As for the other 10 siblings, then from the other 3 mothers
Jacob 'alaihissalam really love Benjamin and Joseph,
especially to Joseph,
It is not stated why Joseph was so loved by Jacob,
wallahu a'lam bisshawab, it could be because Yusuf is a very good and glorious person
so it is natural that a father loves his son who is pious and obedient, that is natural and cannot be denied,
Of course the Prophet Jacob tried to be fair to all his children, but the name of love he could not have, because the one who has the heart is Allah SWT.
As the Prophet ﷺ had eleven wives,
then the Prophet ﷺ tried to do justice, but affection could not be controlled by the heart of the Prophet
because the one who rules the heart of the Prophet is Allah SWT
so that it is mentioned in the hadith, the Prophet ﷺ said,
"“O Allah, this is my division concerning what I possess,..."
That is the problem of the allotment of stay, distribution of living, he tries to be fair and that's what he is capable of
"...O Allah, don't blame me on things that you have control over and I don't control (I.e matters of the heart)"
that is, the Prophet ﷺ loved 'Aisyah radiallahu 'anha more than his other wives
Likewise with the Prophet Jacob'alaihissalam, of course he tried to do justice to his children,
but Joseph 'alaihissalam has its own advantages
maybe joseph was a pious son, obedient, so that the Prophet Jacob's inclination appeared to the Prophet Joseph 'Alaihimussalam
Finally, this is used as reason by his children to do evil to Joseph
I mean, let's not allege that Jacob 'alaihissalam is unfair,
He was a prophet, a pious person, even the most pious in his time
but the tendency of the heart can't be denied, especially if the child is good
For example, we have ten children, then one is pious, obedient and good, the other brother is not so good and doesn't care about his parents, then it's natural...
...the inclination of the heart to a good child is a natural thing
then parents still try to do justice, although we can't deny there is a tendency, because the one who controls our hearts is Allah SWT
Well,
His ten brothers were jealous of Joseph ,
moreover Joseph had a dream with a wonderful dream
Allah SWT said,
“O my dear father! Indeed I dreamt of eleven stars, and the sun, and the moon—I saw them prostrating to me!”
Amazing dream,
great heavenly bodies, 11 stars, sun and moon prostrating to Prophet Joseph 'alaihissalam
This verse will later be interpreted, and it turns out that the meaning of the 11 stars is Joseph's brother,
They are Benjamin and his 10 brothers
Then the meaning of the sun is Joseph,
Then the meaning of the moon is Jacob 'alaihissalam
What did his father say?
His father said,
"O my dear son! Do not relate your vision to your brothers..."
"... or they will devise a plot against you"
Remember!
"... Surely Satan is a sworn enemy to humankind"
It's true that you are brothers, but if the satan has entered between you, there can be enmity even though you are one father
then don't tell this to your brothers
(Message of Jacob to joseph)
This is a good testament from the Prophet Jacob 'alaihissalam, that you don't tell all of your pleasures to your brothers, O my dear son, Joseph.
just hide it, because if they know, then they won't be strong enough to face it, they will hasad (hate) you
Dear viewers who are blessed by Allah, This is a rule that not all the pleasures we feel we have to share
Masha Allah, some people like to share everything they have,
share the pleasures he has, the car he has, the beautiful house he has, even the handsome husband or beautiful wife he has
share everything he owns
what for?
If the intention is to be grateful to Allah, then it doesn't have to be like that
if the intention is to show off, it can cause jealousy, can make people sad when they see it, and so on
Therefore not all of our enjoyment is shown
just let us share enjoyment with people we trust
like Joseph told his father Jacob, because he knew his father was a prophet who was trustworthy and loved Joseph
Therefore, if we tell people who love us then it doesn't matter,
For example, to a close friend,
a close friend who has often been with us and he is a good person, telling success is not a problem
But if we tell everyone, then not everyone can hold his heart,
he will be hurt, he will be hasad, he will be jealous
People ask, "How many cars do you have?"
Then you answer, "My car is two"
He is also hasad, "How come there are two cars?"
"This kind of job has two cars?"
For example
If you are asked, "How many houses do you have?"
Answered, "Two"
"How come there are two houses?"
He too Hasad
if the answer is "I don't have a house and I'm still renting it", he is insulted
Therefore, if a foreigner asks us a question, then we just answer globally
Such as, "Alhamdulillah I have a place to live, Alhamdulillah, Allah has given me pleasure". No need to specify
because sometimes these details make people unable to hear them so that people can be jealous and envious,
and not all the advantages we have for us to show
Brotherhood, we want to live in peace
Some people really want what they have as a commentary,
and he likes it that way, especially Youtubers who want everyone to see it
Never mind, it's all their business with Allah SWT
I mean, one should keep his privacy and keep people from commenting on him,
Not all pleasures are exhibited, because it will cause hasad, sadden the hearts of others, and the like
Well...
Pay attention, it turns out that hasad can come from relatives
Therefore the scholars say, this story (Surah Yusuf) is a Makkiyyah surah, descended in the city of Mecca before the Prophet ﷺ emigrated to the city of Medina.
Why? Because it is as if Allah wants to inform the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ,
"Don't be sad, O Muhammad, your relatives are against you, your uncle Abu Lahab is against you..."
"...your relatives from Bani Hashem are also partly hostile to you..."
"...your large tribe of Quraysh is also hostile to you, even the Quraysh who are at the forefront of opposing you even though you are one family..."
They are the Quraysh of the same family as the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ
as if Allah said,
"Don't be sad, O Messenger of Allah ﷺ in fact Prophet Joseph 'alaihissalam was once hostile to his brothers as father"
the enmity of the closest relationship
Joseph and the others one father and different mother,
but it turns out that it doesn't stop the devil from playing against each other
"So don't be too sad, O Muhammad, tell the truth even if your relatives are against you"
Therefore, Prophet Muhammad ﷺ sad,
Allah said,
"Don't be sad for them"
Rasulullah ﷺ is sad that they cannot be guided, even they are hostile to the Prophet ﷺ
and that is a special test when it is hostile to its own tribe, the Quraish
Thus the Prophet Joseph 'alaihissalam was hostile to his brothers, this is also a separate test
His brothers should have helped him & be proud of him, but instead they were hostile to him and even plotted against him
Viewers, who are blessed by Allah SWT...
Although Joseph did not tell his brothers, basically his brothers were jealous of Joseph 'alaihissalam.
Finally Joseph's brothers spoke among them
Allah said,
they said,
"Joseph and his brother (Benjamin) are more loved by Father than us, even though we are more..."
"we are ten people while he is alone (joseph & Benjamin)"
What are they saying?
"...Indeed our Father is in manifest error"
Subhanallah...
How can they be in real error while their father is the Prophet Jacob 'alaihissalam?
That is, they mean, Prophet Jacob 'alaihissalam is misguided in worldly matters, as for religion, of course not, because they know that their father was a prophet.
and this Ibtila', Allah tested the Prophet Jacob 'alaihissalam with most of the children who were disobedient at that time, even though they later realized
but this is Ibtila', or Allah tests the Prophet Jacob 'alaihissalam
Finally, because they are hasad, they plan to do bad to Joseph 'alaihissalam
they said,
Pay attention to their words,
"Let's just kill joseph..."
The first option is to kill Joseph
Second choice,
"...or throw him away somewhere"
"...so that he no longer lives in our house, so that our Father can focus, dear to us"
This is the purpose of Joseph being expelled, namely so that joseph will no longer exist, so that Jacob 'alaihissalam will focus and love his brothers
"...after that, be pious people"
See the plans of the satan who gave them ideas,
"We kill Joseph or we throw him away, after that we repent and become godly sons so that Father loves us"
Many people commit immorality in this way, "Only this time I was corrupted after that I repented, this is a golden opportunity, when else can I be corrupt", for example
Thus the satan often commits treason like that,
make it easier for people to make a sin on the pretext of repenting afterwards
"After that you repent, Allah is Most Forgiving", said Satan
This is the satan who once came to Joseph's brothers and that also came to us, who told us to sin and repent afterwards.
Just this time, just this two times, until we continue to sin because Allah is Most Forgiving, finally we are easy to sin and we do what we do,
while we don't know, Does Allah accept our repentance? Can we still live next day?
See their plan, Joseph is killed or Joseph is kept away, after that their father focuses on them
It turned out that all of their plans failed, later after they succeeded in exiling Joseph, he had disappeared and was considered dead.
it turns out that their father also doesn't love them, it turns out that Jacob 'alaihissalam the focus is on Benjamin
So it's the same that their goal doesn't work
Satan gave an illustration, this way and this way, they did it, but it didn't work
Well,
After they consulted to kill joseph...
-subhanallah amazing hasad-
Hasad, when it enters someone's heart, even his closest relatives can be harmed
I ever met someone who reported to me, "Ustad, My brother's was bewitched..."
I asked, "Who is bewitching?"
He replied, "His brother"
I replied, "Tell her sister that it's shirk"
"Her sister knows, her sister is a boarding school graduate, knows that it's shirk."
the answer
I asked, "But why bewitched?"
He replied, "Because he's annoyed with his sister"
Imagine, extraordinary hasad makes a person desperate to commit shirk just to please his heart
And hasad has also happened to the children of Adam, said Allah SWT,
"Tell them about the story of the two sons of Adam, when they both (Qobil & Abel) gave a sacrificial animal to Allah..."
"then accepted from one of them"
"and the other one is not accepted"
Finally, what is not accepted is hasad
"I will kill you"
Hasad makes a person able to kill his own brother
And behold! These ten people apparently planned to kill Joseph
they plan how to kill Joseph
But among the ten people it turned out that there was a good one...
Benjamin did not participate in the deliberation, because Benjamin was in the same family as Joseph, so his brothers were not consulted.
and Benjamin certainly defended Joseph 'alaihissalam
Allah SWT said
"One of them said, don't kill joseph"
"just throw it in the well"
"There will be travelers who will take him"
"...if you really want to do bad to Joseph"
He doesn't want to be killed, just throw it into the well, later the travelers will take it
because his goal is important, he (Joseph) is far away, not in front of their father's eyes
If he's gone, then his father is focused on them
This is the best person among the ten people
Finally they carried out their plan so that they could exile (keep) Joseph from his father
they started acting
They came to their father and said,
"O our father! Why do you not trust us with Joseph,"
"although we truly wish him well?"
Nashihun means "We wish good luck to Joseph"
They use Nun Taukid, emphasis
Nun Taukid and Lam Taukid
if we translate it into Indonesian, “O our father! Why do you not trust us with Joseph,..."
"... although we truly wish him well?
"Send him out with us tomorrow so that he may enjoy himself and play. And we will really watch over him.”
They presented a good plan to his father,
as if to say,
"O our Father, Joseph at home every day, let him go out for a walk with us, let him (Joseph) play to relieve boredom and others.."
This is a great idea
Moreover, Joseph is still a child, maybe he likes to play
What did his father say?
"It would truly sadden me if you took him away with you..."
So, his father loved Joseph so much that he would be sad if he didn't see Joseph for once.
because maybe Joseph is extraordinarily good, especially since he was handsome, and there are many other factors that make Jacob 'alaihissalam really love to Joseph
...that's why he said
"It would truly sadden me if you took him away with you..."
This is the first reason, being separated from Joseph for a day or a few hours has made Jacob sad
and the second reason, "... I fear that a wolf may devour him while you are negligent of him."
This is the argument that Prophet Jacob did not know the occult, he was a prophet, the best human alive at that time.
The most honorable of prophets, most loved by Allah, but he did not know magic, he did not know that his brothers Joseph was lying, he did not know
Prophet Jacob did not know the occult and Allah did not inform that Joseph's brothers were lying
Why? Because Allah wants to test the Prophet Jacob 'Alaihisalam by separating from the person he loves, Joseph 'alaihissalam
Subhanallah, if we think about how the prophets were tested with the things they love,
as we have told the story of Abraham, now jacob is separated from Joseph 'alaihissalam
Prophet Muhammad ﷺ separated from his hometown, and other stories
"and I fear that a wolf may devour him while you are negligent of him."
What did Joseph's brothers say?
"If a wolf were to devour him, despite our strong group, then we would certainly be losers!"
That is, why can't we fight the wolves, one of us can fight the wolves, moreover there are ten of us, they want to convince his father
Finally the Prophet Jacob was deceived by them and finally he agreed they brought Joseph
Prophet Jacob keep thinking positive, that no matter how the brother is still a brother, even though they are bitter with Joseph but still their brother
It did not occur to Jacob that they were determined to do so, even though previously they had planned to kill Joseph 'alaihissalam.
Finally they went to bring Joseph, What did Allah SWT say?
"And so, when they took him away and decided to throw him into the bottom of the well,..."
"..and we revealed to Joseph 'alaihissalam...",
that is when he was thrown into the bottom of the well
Allah said,
"We revealed to him, O Joseph one day you will tell them about this deed",
and this will happen later after Joseph becomes a minister,
"Didn't you (my brothers), ever do that to me?"
But Allah reminds me,
"One day you will remind them of this deed of theirs while they are unaware of who you are"
Well, finally they put Joseph in the well, and they waited, they didn't leave joseph right away, they waited for his brother to be safe or not.
Well, Joseph and his ten brothers are still brothers, although they are bad but there must be good among them, so they ensure the safety of joseph until he really leaves his country
"And there came some travellers, and they sent their water-boy,"
"who let down his bucket into the well"
suddenly the bucket was held by joseph
He pulled the bucket and there was a small child there
He said
"Good news, this is a child, we can make him a slave, we tie him up and take him to the village"
It turned out that Joseph's brothers were waiting there and said, "This is our freed slave, if you want it, buy it"
"And they took him secretly to be sold as merchandise, but Allah is All-Knowing of what they did."
"They later sold him for a cheap price, just a few silver coins—only wanting to get rid of him."
they don't sell expensively, the important thing is that someone from far away buys it, so little Joseph is taken away
the important thing is that Joseph was bought
Finally they sold joseph even though at a cheap price
After they confirmed that his younger brother Joseph had left Palestine,
they finally made a drama by coming home a bit late at evening
"Then they returned to their father in the evening, weeping."
They should have come home in the afternoon and not at evening, and they agreed to cry, so for dramatic
then they said,
They said, "O our father, actually we were competing with 10 people (archery competition, running competition, etc.) ..."
"...and we left Joseph in the luggage compartment. While we were playing, suddenly a wolf devoured him,"
"...But you will not believe us, no matter how truthful we are."
Masha Allah, what an amazing drama, they cried then said,
"...But you will not believe us, no matter how truthful we are."
To convince their father,
And they brought his (Joseph) shirt, stained with false blood
Certainly not Joseph's blood
They said, "Father, look at joseph's shirt covered in blood, eaten by wolves"
His father knew that they were lying,
"No! Your souls must have tempted you to do something evil...."
"So ˹I am left with nothing but˺ beautiful patience!"
"It is Allah’s help that I seek to bear your claims."
That is, their father (Jacob) does not believe in them,
Their father couldn't believe their crying, couldn't believe the bloodstained clothes
everything in his father's eyes is a lie
Why Jacob didn't know the occult?
We explained earlier that Ya'qub didn't know what was going on, Jacob didn't know that Joseph's brothers would lie to him.
But, why does he say his son is lying?
There are two reasons Jacob accused them of lying, first because they said that Joseph had been eaten by wolves
Jacob rejected the news, why? Because Joseph has told him that an incident will occur where the Sun, Moon and 11 Stars prostrate to him
This means that he will still live, and one day his father will prostrate to him
and it hasn't happened yet
So, how then is Joseph said to be dead when the dream is indicates the future?
Therefore Jacob said this was a lie because Joseph must not have died
because he (Joseph) ever told him that there was a sun, moon and 11 stars prostrating to him, this is the first reason
Second, judging by the indications of his lies,
From the clothes they brought as evidence
It they said that Prophet Joseph's clothes were full of blood but not torn.
and this is an indication of a lie
The wolf, it is impossible for him to eat unless Joseph's clothes are torn
So they have tried to lie, but there is one mistake, namely they did not tear the clothes of Prophet joseph.
and this is a sign that they are lying
So...
So, they scapegoat the wolves,
That wolf is accused, even though the wolf escaped from Joseph's blood
There is a paper entitled
"The wolf escaped from joseph's blood"
it means that the wolf was accused of killing Joseph by his brothers, even though he didn't kill him
Well
Prophet Jacob 'alaihissalam knew his children were lying, but he didn't criticize, didn't curse, he just said "Fashabrun Jamil"
Subhanallah...
He was a very wonderful and very patient father, separated from the child he loved most by his own children,
and this is the extraordinary level of disobedience by his children
But, what did the Prophet Jacob say?
"...Only to Allah I ask for help for your lies, fashabrun Jamil"
What is Shabrun Jamil?
In the Qur'an Allah mentions three sentences such as,
Shabrun Jamil, Hajrun Jamil, then Asshafhul Jamil
three
Shabrun Jamil, Hajrun Jamil, Asshafhul Jamil Allah mentions in the Qur'an
First, صبر جميل
"Beautiful patience"
It means that there is patience that is less beautiful
What is beautiful patience? That is patience that is not accompanied by complaining to humans
A person called Shabrun Jamil is he who is patient and only complains to Allah,
that is he prays only to Allah, tells his suffering only to Allah, asks Allah for a solution, that's Shabrun Jamil
As for the person who is patient and then he tells or confides to people, then it is not Shabrun Jamil
He confided to people about the suffering he felt, the scholars said that as though he was telling Allah to that person,
as if he was saying, "Allah did not predestinate me well," for example
So be careful when someone confides
As for someone Shabrun Jamil, even if he tells other people, it's not to complain about his condition, but to find a solution, and this is not a problem.
For example, someone who confides, "Oh why am I like this, why did Allah ordained that?"
This is not allowed, it's illegal (haram)
But Shabrun Jamil is patience that is not accompanied by confiding in others
This is the most beautiful
That's why the Prophet Jacob'alaihissalam as we will bring the verse,
He said
as we have alluded, he said,
"Indeed I only complain of my sorrow and my suffering to Allah",
that's Shabrun Jamil
The second is هجر جميل (Leaving in a good way)
"and leave them with a good legacy"
That is, when there are problems with other people, he tries to leave people in a good way
maybe we don't get along with other people, but that doesn't mean we have to fight with them
This is the rule in life
maybe we don't like people who have been together in work, in da'wah or foundations, if we don't match then we don't have to make a fuss,
if we can, leave in a good way...
That's called Hajran Jamila, and it's a honorable character
(for example there is no match) then we step back slowly and gradually then give a good reason and then we leave
For example on Whatsapp group, then there was a commotion
we don't feel right in that group, we don't need to be fussy, just leave in a good way
Just say it now, I'm busy, and so on, say hello and leave the group
we don't have to leave it in a state we are fighting with them
In social life, sometimes our interactions in one foundation, in one group, in one Whatsapp group and others, can cause problems,
so that's what we face with hajran jamilaa
Remember and be careful, we don't have to part noisily
because there are also people who actually want to make noise,
so after that, it continues with a grudge
That only makes us suffer,
he suffers, we suffer, maybe even we suffer more than him
Then come out (stop) in a good way, that's called Hajran Jamila
"Leaving in a good way"
The third is, فاصفح الصفح الجميل
"Forgive in a kind way"
This is hard
Many people forgive but he grumbles, reproach and others,
like saying, "you are an asshole, you are rude, but i'm sorry", a lot of people like that
but Shafhal Jamil does not reproach, and that is what joseph 'alaihissalam practiced
Then Joseph will tell his brothers, "No reproach to you"
Forgiving without reproach is hard, but it's worship
So, everything is worship, Shabrun Jamil worship,
Hajrun Jamil, leaving in a good way is worship, so that it is not only the benefit of this world but also the hereafter because Allah has commanded it
and Shafhul Jamil, forgiving without reproach is also worship
if you can advise, but not by reproach
Like saying,
"Well, next time don't do this, because then you're an asshole and cunning...", etc.
That is not Shafhul Jamil
Because Shafhul Jamil is forgiving, it is permissible to advise, but without reproach, and that is worship.
These are the three noble morals,
Shabrun Jamil, Hajrun Jamil and Shafhul Jamil
Well...
Finally, little Joseph is sold
then bought by a minister in the land of Egypt who has a beautiful wife, who is said to be named Zulaikha
However, there is no authentic hadith that mentions her name is Zulaikha,
but people call her, Zulaikha
We say Zulaikha just for convenience, but actually we say امرءة العزيز "The Minister's wife"
When bought by them, said the minister,
"This child, hopefully it will be useful for us in the future, or we will make it as an adopted child"
This shows that Joseph was still small when he was dumped by his brothers and bought by the minister
Subhanallah, coincidentally they (the ministers) have no children
and they intend to adopt Joseph as their son
Finally Joseph Alaihissalam grew up in the house
Subhanallah, he (Joseph) became a very handsome man
unnaturally handsome
And joseph was from the tribe of the Israelis
As for the people of Egypt, the tribes are different, someone say they are the Heksos tribe, other people say the Aqbath tribe, the point is that they are different tribes from Joseph.
Joseph is so handsome, until it is mentioned in the Hadith, the Prophet ﷺ saw Joseph with a handsome face when Isra 'Miraj
The Prophet ﷺ said
"Joseph was given half his good looks"
Many interpretations of half good looks,
someone say that half of the human beauty given to Joseph Alaihissalam
very handsome
we don't know what percentage of our good looks in this world
Imagine, half handsome for Prophet Joseph Alaihissalam
Thus, among the scholars' interpretations,
he's amazingly handsome
His employer's wife, whose name is said to be Zulaikha or imraatul aziz was finally attracted to Joseph. Why? Because every day, She see Joseph
every day they meet, after a long time tresno if we say in javanese
She often meet Josep, after a long time falling in love, especially Joseph is amazingly handsome
Finally, one day this woman began to seduce Joseph
Allah SWT said,
"And the lady, in whose house he lived, tried to seduce him..."
she seduced at her house because Joseph lived with them
"...and she closed all the doors,"
all the doors he closed, because his house is big and has many doors
or it could be that he closed the door to his room, then the door to the second room, then the door to the third room was closed, and so on because the house was so big.
Some of us, masya Allah, there are only two doors to the house, the entrance and directly the toilet door,
I even heard some people, masha Allah, the house is small 3 x 4, there the bed, the kitchen, even the toilet is only given a cloth
Subhanallah, we have a lot to be grateful to Allah SWT
We are talking about the house of a minister, a ruler in an Egyptian city, whose house has many doors
that's why it's mentioned
"then she closed the doors"
Either he closes tightly, or repeats because there are so many doors to close
the first door is closed, the second door, the third door, and so on
She made an amazing plan
After she locked the door, Joseph was framed
maybe Joseph was sent to his room to take care of something
so that Joseph 'alaihissalam came, and she locked all the doors
then she said
"Come to me!"
She's the one who seduces
What did joseph 'alaihissalam say?
"Allah is my refuge!"
"It is ˹not right to betray˺ my master, who has taken good care of me"
"Indeed, the wrongdoers never succeed."
Pay attention,
I want to give an desription of how difficult the test faced by Prophet Joseph 'alaihissalam
Therefore, the scholars say that the gathering of the tests faced by Prophet Joseph 'alaihissalam...
...is Manqabah, the honorable of Prophet Joseph, which not everyone can face this test
Pay attention!
The test is very heavy, and how did Prophet Joseph 'alaihissalam deal with it?
Ibn al-Qayyim mentions in his book Aljawabul Kafi, there are about ten tests
then also mentioned by Abdurrahman bin Nasir As-Sa'di in his commentary about ten tests
Take note! I want to describe how hard the test of Prophet Joseph 'alaihissalam
The first, Prophet Joseph 'alaihissalam was young,
We know that young people have higher lust than old people
Therefore, if the young and the old commit fornication, the old man who commits fornication was given a bigger sin
both of them commit a big sin, but the old one who commits fornication was given a bigger sin
Waliyadzubillah, and there are people like that, old man but still who commits fornication
Why is the sin even bigger? Because the factor for commit immorality is smaller (because he is old)
As we have said in previous meetings,
Prophet ﷺ said,
"There are three (types of) people whom Allah will neither look at with a look of mercy..."
"...Allah will not purify him, Allah will not speak to him, and for them a painful chastisement..."
These are,
"An old man who commits fornication"
"a king who is a great liar,"
"and a poor man who is proud."
Why are they punished? Because the factors that influence to commit immorality have been reduced
Imagine...
If you're rich and then arrogant, it's natural, but if you're poor, what do you want to brag about?
Already poor but arrogant, then the sin is greater than being rich who is arrogant
I repeat!
The proud poor have a greater sin than the arrogant rich,
both of them committed a big sin
but the arrogant poor has a bigger sin
Why? Since he has no reason to be arrogant, then why be arrogant?
Then also the king who lied
Why should he lie? While he is the King, whom everyone submits to, all under his orders
But why should he lie? He doesn't need to lie
So if he still lies, then his sin is bigger than the lie of ordinary people
The third is an old man who commits fornication,
An old man who commits fornication
Pay attention,
joseph 'alaihissalam is still young, of course his lust is high, different from old people
this is the first test that is Joseph is still young
Dear viewers who are blessed by Allah SWT
Second test...
... Joseph 'alaihissalam is a foreigner
We know that foreigners living in a foreign country, the courage factor to commit immorality is greater than in his own village, and this is a reality.
Many thieves, he does not dare to steal in his own village, he dares outside his village
Like a jumping squirrel, he doesn't act in his camp, but he comes out to rob and rob people of property
in his own village he is a pious person, why? Because, if he commit immorality it will shame his family
so if in his own village he is a pious person, when he comes out he becomes a criminal
What does it mean?
If waliyadzubillah, Prophet Joseph 'alaihissalam committed a sin in Egypt, then who would be humiliated? Nothing, because Prophet Joseph is alone
There is no one his family in Egypt, so if he falls into something despicable, it is natural because the motivating factor is big.
the situation is different from people who are commit immorality in their own village
If in their own village, people will have full of consideration, like what if i get caught? The family will be embarrassed, for example
So this is a separate test faced by Prophet joseph 'alaihissalam,Prophet joseph is a foreigner
The third test, invited to commit immorality at the employer's house
No one expected it, it means that it is very easy to commit disobedience because it is at home, and no one will suspect anything
Like a female employer who meets her male assistant, then no one will suspect that she is immoral
Even if it happens, then no one will know because it's in a state that people do not suspect
That's why the Prophet ﷺ said,
"Husband's brother (in-law) is death"
Why? Because society views it as normal if a woman meets her sister-in-law
a woman meeting her sister-in-law is a common thing so that no one denies it, even though it can be a slander
considered normal, even though it is not a mahram and there can be slander to adultery
That's why the Prophet ﷺ said,
Likewise, Joseph's presence in the house with Zulaikha is a natural matter, no one can deny it
because it's only between the wife of the employer and the maid
Alright, viewers who are blessed by Allah SWT,, Insya Allah we will continue tomorrow because it's time for Isha time
That's all for this meeting,
I hope we meet again in a better opportunity
