أن يشهد أنه إذا عفا وأحسن
أورثه ذلك من سلامة
القلب لإخوانه
ونقائه من الغش والغل
وطلب الانتقام وإرادة الشر
وحصل له من حلاوة العفو ما يزيد لذته
منفعته عاجلاً وآجلا
على المنفعة الحاصلة له
بالانتقام أضعافًا مضاعفة
Syeikh Islam Ibn Tayyimiyah said
One shall realizes the fact that
when he forgives and reacts well,
it causes him to have open heartednes
and cleanses his heart
from intending evil
from seeking retaliation
This is an extraordinary delight
It is true that one might be satisfied
by retaliation
Aren't you satisfied when you retaliate?
There is this delight
One says that you are a pig
You replied, You are a pig
So, after you retaliate,
you are satisfied
One says you are a liar, you tell him
that he is too, you are satisfied
There is satisfaction,
there is delight
But Ibnu Tayyimiyyah rahimahullah said
If you forgive, the sweetness of pardoning
is more than that of retaliation
More than the delight of retaliation
Although you are satisfied
after retaliating
There is more sweetness in pardoning
Your heart is calmer
Nothing in your mind
good sleep
You are busy with your wife and kids
ignoring what other say
Our heart is small
When one is about to sleep
and remembering his problems
How insolent So-so is
How insolent the Ustaz is,
he made fun of me in front of the forum
How insulent the Ustaz is,
he said that I was a liar
Eventually, sometimes he has problems
with his parents
How insolent my mother is
How insolent my father is
Quarrels with siblings
How insolent he is
He remembers this while he's
about to sleep, when will he sleep?
When he wakes up,
he'll have stroke
uric acid at the least
Therefore, my fellow Muslims,
may Allah bless you
If he forgives, there is nothing else
He can sleep, nothing to think about
Wouldn't he feel in peace?
Wouldn't he be feel fresh
waking up in the morning?
When one says
So-so is saying things about you
I don't want to listen
If he doesn't listen to it
he's happy and in peace
If he listens, his heart would be busy
thinking about it
Thus, my fellow Muslims,
may Allah SWT bless you
I say, there is a satisfaction
in retaliation
But it would be more
if we forgive
from the saying
of Syaikh Islam Ibn Tayyimiyah
This is the theory,
the practice is difficult
But this is the theory
that we have to understand
