He shall realize the fact that
the best rewards which Allah has promised
is for whoever pardons and is patient
as Allah SWT said
And the retribution for an evil act is
an evil one like it
but whoever pardons
and makes reconciliation
his reward is [due] from Allah
Allah is the One giving him
Verily, ndeed, He does not like wrongdoers.
In this verse, Ibn Tayyimiyah ra said that
Allah mentions three types of mankind
in relation to reciprocation of harm
When one is harmed,
there are three types
Three models of mankind in relation
to reciprocation of harm
The first one is
مقتصدmuqtasid
sparing who takes the value of his right
Allah said
And the retribution for an evil act is
an evil one like it
If you punish, punish with an equivalent
of that with which you were harmed
But Allah said
But if you are patient - it is better
for those who are patient.
Allah SWT did not blame the person
if one is harmed and want to revenge
the equivalent harm
He vents his anger
As long as his vengeance is the same
as his wickedness, he is not guilty
So, Allah categorizes the types of mankind
One can revenge but with
the equivalent value
For example, one says to us,
You are such a dog
We respond, Such a dog
We are not guilty
Because we retaliate according
to his harm
If we respond
Such a rabies dog
That is a sin
Because a rabies dog is worst
then a normal dog
And he is really angry
Not only you the one with rabies
your father, your grand mother,
your ancestor do too
This is worst
So, the first model, muqtasid,
to retaliate according to the harm suffered
It is not a sin, but the person
does not do anoble thing
The second one is the one committing a sin
He crosses the line, going beyond
He retaliates more than it should
So, Allah ends the verse
by saying
Allah does not like wrongdoers.
Since he retaliates worse
than he is a wrong-doer
The best one is the third one
those who forgiven; Allah said
whoever pardons and makes reconciliation
his reward is [due] from Allah
My fellow Muslims, may you be blessed
by Allah SWT
It is narrated from Ibn Abbas
that on the Judgement Day
There will be a voice calling
Let him rise
whoever's reward is binding
upon Allah
and none will step forward except
the one who forgave and made reconciliation
So, these people will be glorified by Allah
There is a beautiful hadith
about forgiveness
I remind all husbands
that we are ordered to forgive
people who do us wrong
If we forgive other people
with no relation
we shall forgive those who are
close to us
For example, our wives
You shall forgive your wives
The same goes with the wives
You shall forgive your husband
Gentlemen, remember
the hadith of the Apostle
Whoever suppresses his rage
while he is able to unleash it,
Allah will call him before the heads (leaders)
of creation on the Day of Judgement,
Allah shows him to all people
And he will be asked to choose
any of the virgins (Hur) of his liking
This is a reference saying
the angels are not the same types
Therefore, if your wife is angry,
forgive her
Why did you forgive, O Husband?
O wife, verily the Apostle said
Those who fogive will be asked
to chose an angel on the Day of Judgement
Thank you my wife,
I forgive you
So, my fellow Muslims,
may you be blessed by Allah SWT
Allah will glorify those who forgive
It is mandatory for Allah to reward
those who forgive, on the Day of judgement
This hadith is about
retaining anger
The reward is extraordinary
getting an angel to whom we are pleased
It would be even greater
if we forgive
It is not only to retain anger
It is even better than retaining anger
