Our duty is to worship Allah
Allah SWT said
وَمَا خَلَقْتُ الْجِنَّ وَالْإِنْسَ إِلَّا لِيَعْبُدُونِ
مَا أُرِيدُ مِنْهُمْ مِنْ رِزْقٍ
وَمَا أُرِيدُ أَنْ يُطْعِمُونِ
إِنَّ اللَّهَ هُوَ الرَّزَّاقُ ذُو الْقُوَّةِ الْمَتِينُ
Allah SWT said
And I did not create the jinn and mankind
except to worship Me
I do not want from them any provision
nor do I want them to feed Me
إِنَّ اللَّهَ هُوَ الرَّزَّاقُ
Indeed, it is Allah who is the [continual] Provider
If you work and do not forget
to worship Allah
Have faith that Allah guarantees
your provision
I give you the faith that
having fear to Allah
affects our provision
It is Allah who affirms it
وَمَنۡ يَّـتَّـقِ اللّٰهَ يَجۡعَلْ لَّهٗ مَخۡرَجًا
وَّيَرۡزُقۡهُ مِنۡ حَيۡثُ لَا يَحۡتَسِبُ‌ ؕ
And whoever fears Allah
He will make for him a way out
And will provide for him
from where he does not expect.
In the Quran, Allah does not praise
those who always stay in the mosque
nor those who always recite the Quran
nor those who do the dhikr
But Allah praises those who do trades
those who work
who do transactions
but when there is the call
for prayer, they go pray
Allah SWT said
رِجَالٌ لَا تُلْهِيهِمْ تِجَارَةٌ
وَلَا بَيْعٌ عَنْ ذِكْرِ اللَّهِ
وَإِقَامِ الصَّلَاةِ وَإِيتَاءِ الزَّكَاةِ
يَخَافُونَ يَوْمًا تَتَقَلَّبُ فِيهِ
الْقُلُوبُ وَالْأَبْصَارُ
[Are] men whom neither commerce nor sale
distracts from the remembrance of Allah
and performance of prayer
Allah praises them
Because they are wonderful
They have to look for provision
for their children and wife
They have to work to provide
for their parents
But their work do not distract them
to do the prayers
to do dhikr for Allah,
to remember death
to attend Islamic forum
to give to charity
to recite the quran
These people are wonderful
Allah praises those who work
But their work does not distract them
from the rememberance of Allah SWT
And have good faith to Allah
Allah will not abandon us
if we have fear to Allah
Who gave you your provision
when you were in the womb?
You were unable to do things
in your mother's womb
Allah provided you with your provision
For 9 months, Allah gave you provision
through your mother
Then, you were born, a baby,
and could do nothing but cry
Allah gave you provision
from breast milk
Allah trained you to breast feed
from your mother
It was Allah who trained you
And you could do it
And Allah continued giving His provision,
until you were in college and graduated
And you fear that you won't have
any provision
How can you think that?
Now that you have a degree, why are you
afraid not obtaining any provision?
while Allah gave you provision
when you were a child
Thus, have no bad faith toward Allah
The point is one shall put effort
and have fear to Allah
Allah willing, Allah will provide for him
sufficiently
and will make him happy
