Welcome everyone. Ustaz channel listeners. Alhamdulillah, we are here with our teacher. Ust. Dr. Firanda Adirja, LC, M.A. Welcome, Ustaz. You are here now. We have a question. Today, we see a lot of our friends who have changed into good. At the beginning, they attend regularly religious forums. But... After a while... They don't show up, and when we see them, they return to their previous world. A world they should have left. But they go back. Perhaps, you can tell us. Is there something wrong with the way they change... Or perhaps, there is a specific method we can apply to stay in this right path? Some advices for us? We know that changing into good is a noble deed. There are many verses about it. My advices for our friends who have just found their way... First, one shall change because of Allah. Some change... ...by the influence of their peers Perhaps, they don't feel good with others. For example, not doing usury. They do it not because of Allah, but because their friends don't do it anymore Or, he's afraid of what others might say. So, he doesn't do it anymore. It means that he changes not because of Allah. Meanwhile, we know that all kinds of deeds shall be for Allah SWT. When one changes, he has to be sincere. I change not because of others. But for Allah SWT. When one changes for Allah, Allah will give him good. Whosoever leaves something because of Allah... ...Allah will replace it with good. Secondly, when one just returns to the right path... No doubt, the evil will try to pull him back, because... ...he's just left sinful acts. He's left evilish world. Certainly, evil is not happy with it. He's not happy because his "student" left him. He will try his best to get him back. When one returns to the right path, he realizes that when he leaves... ...his community or sinful acts... ...there will be many temptations. Evil will tempt him from any direction. To return him to his past. He shall seek refuge and pray to Allah SWT. ...so that he stays on his track. Among the best prayers... ... it is a pray to Allah SWT: يامقلب القلوب ثبت قلبي على دينك Which meansO Changer of the hearts. Make my heart firm upon Your religion If the Apostle ﷺ, a Prophet... ...to whom the Quran was sent upon... And if We had not strengthened you, O Muhammad. ...you would have almost inclined to them a little. So, Allah was the one who made the Apostle ﷺ to be firm. With those many temptations ... ...from the Quraisy who kept tempting the Prophet with ... ...position, women, leadership. That Allah said. And if We had not strengthened you,. Even less for us. Those who have just repented shall pray to Allah. To be firm in returning to Allah SWT's path. Thirdly, we shall leave all causes... ...that will make us return to our past world. In a story about a killer who killed 100 people... When he repented, ... He asked to the most resourceful person. What do I have to do in my repentance? The person replied: Leave your village. Go to another village Go to another village. Worship Allah with the people in that village, the rightous people. This is an indication, that one changes, he shall find a new community. A group of righteous people There is a consequence. He shall leave his previous community. I am often asked about this. One returns to his previous community. Perhaps to preach, or because he doesn't feel good, so he returns there. I once attended a forum in Melbourne. A person asked. Ustaz. I was invited to do iftar together. With my friends from my previous community. But I know, afterward, we were going to drink alcohol. So, after iftar, it is beer. I came, and that is right. I drank beer. So, his community was really influental. Thus, the Apostle ﷺ reminded us. Be careful with our friends. Be careful. One depends on his friend's religion. An Arab proverb said, your friend will pull you. This, when one changes, he has to decide. To leave his friends from his previous community. He can just say hi. But not too long. Because his faith is not stable. If his faith has grown strong, attending many religious forums, has enough knowledge. For years. He can try to preach his friends. If he gets along with his friends because he feels uncomfortable, and go with them... The risk is he returns to his previous life. Again, I am telling the story about the killer. He was told to leave his previous community. To find a new one. And we believe, as the Apostle ﷺ said: من ترك شيئاً لله عوضه الله خيراً منه Whosoever leaves something because of Allah, Allah will replace him with something better. If he leaves his previous community. Allah will replace it with a better community. Who cares more about him. True friends willing to remind him, to embrace him. The point is he leaves sins because of Allah SWT. So, one of the causes that take one back to his previous life... ...is interacting with... ...his previous community too much. He also has to leave causes that make him... ...trapped in sins. For example, he no longer plays music. So, he shall leave all things related to music. He shall leave all things related to music. He shall not, for example take a guitar Ah one key. He will be dragged. One key, two keys, three keys, and he'll be locked with his guitar. This happens. Thus, one shall know when his faith is not strong in this matter. He has to be alert. Salaf said, a faqih is the one who knows... ...when his faith is up and down. We understand that ... When I attend religious forum, my faith is risen. When I read Quran, my faith is risen. When I talk with this person my faith decreases. When I watch this, my faith decreases. Insya Allah, we have signals to recognize this. Be alert. If we were trapped... ...in music, we shall not... ...interact with anything that will bring us to music. For example, being with people who still like dancing. Doing Islamic music. We'll be taken back. We'd say what is the difference between this music and that music. And evil will take us to bad stuff. There is no Islamic music because music is haram. Music is haram. Whether it is Islamic or not. It is haram. And we can't say Islamic music. As if we're saying Islamic sin. Another example, one used to do adultery. He shall be careful because there are many things today that can take us to adultery. He shall leave all things that take him to adultery.. He shall watch his sight. He shall be careful with his mobile phonr. He shall be careful when he uses his laptop. Because, when one is trapped, he won't be able to stand. Therefore, when the Apostle Joseph A.S when he was attempted by the minister's wife... Some said her name was Zuleikha. He invoked Allah SWT. He said رَبِّ السِّجْنُ أَحَبُّ إِلَيَّ مِمَّا يَدْعُونَنِي إِلَيْهِ ۖ "O Allah, I prefer prison to their temptations." وَإِلَّا تَصْرِفْ عَنِّي كَيْدَهُنَّ أَصْبُ إِلَيْهِنَّ "And if You do not avert from me their plan, I might incline toward them." So, Joseph AS wasn't confident and saying Go ahead, tempt me. I will be strong. He wasn't like that. He knew that he was not strong enough with this. He was a prophet. He admitted to Allah SWT. He said: And if You do not avert from me their plan, I might incline toward this woman. Did Joseph lied in his words? He was right. It means that Joseph A.S knew that for this... He had to make a distance. Evil knows our weakness. Some couldn't stand when tempted by women. Some could. Some could stand women's temptation but not position. Some are easily tempted with unclean wealth. Thus, anything that make us return to our previous bad life... ...shall be kept away. I heard a sad story. A woman consulted me. She's married. Her husband was on the right track, they're married with three children. Lately, her husband returned to his previous life. Via social media, he said hi to his old friends. Finally, he returned becoming a homosexual. He's left his homosexual life, he's married and led a normal life. But, subhanallah, when he interacts with his community... Regardless his intention, he was dragged. This is a catastroph. When we return to our sins after Allah had given us guidance. Those are things that we shall pay attention to. For our friends who's just returned on the right track. There are many temptations when we want to go on the right track. When one has just find his right track, evil will tempt him. Don't lose hope, repent yourself. And re-start. Find friends, attend religious forums. Those are the ways to protect us from our previous life. Only Allah knows best. Masya Allah. Jazakallahu bikhair, barakallahu fiik. Alright, listeners. That was a short preach from Ust. Dr. Firanda Andirja, Lc. M.A Hopefully we can apply it. We shall close our forum wiht kafaratul masjid prayer.
