Allah said:
فَبِاَىِّ اٰلَاۤءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبٰنِ
"So which of the favors
of your Lord would you deny?"
The earth and its contents are
a tremendous favor.
So which of Allah's favors
would you deny?
فَبِاَىِّ اٰلَاۤءِ رَبِّكُمَا
كُمَا is a pronoun for two people.
كُمَا
This refers to humans and jinn.
So Allah says ...
"O Humans and Jins, which of the favors
of your Lord would you deny?"
With many favors that Allah
has prepared for you.
In one hadith, the Prophet recited
this verse.
فَبِاَىِّ اٰلَاۤءِ رَبِّكُمَا
تُكَذِّبٰنِ
"So, which of the favors
of your Lord would you deny...
... O Jin and Humans? "
When the companions listened
to this verse, they remained silent.
The Prophet was waiting,
the Prophet ﷺ said...
مالي اسمع الجن
أَحْسَنَ جوابا لربها مِنْكُمْ
"How come the jinn's answer ...
... is better than yours,
my friends? "
كُلَّمَا أَتَيْتُ عَلَى قَوْلِهِ تعالى
"Every time I recite Allah's words ...
عَزّ وجَلّ
فَبِاَىِّ اٰلَاۤءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبٰنِ
"So which of the favors
of your Lord would you deny?"
The jinns would answer:
لاَ بِشَيْءٍ مِنْ نِعَمِكَ
رَبَّنَا نُكَذِّبُ
'O our Lord, we do not deny
any of Your favors.'
فَلَكَ الْحَمْدُ
"And Yours is praise"
So each time the Prophet recited
this verse فَبِاَىِّ اٰلَاۤءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبٰنِ
The jinns would answer:
The jinns said:
'By Allah, O our Rabb.'
'Not a single favor ...
... of Your favors
that we deny. '
Meanwhile, the companions remained silent.
Some scholars took this as argument
from this hadith considered authentic.
So, if we hear one recites
Allah's saying...
فَبِاَىِّ اٰلَاۤءِ رَبِّكُمَا
تُكَذِّبٰنِ
Then we say:
لاَ بِشَيْءٍ مِنْ نِعَمِكَ رَبَّنَا
نُكَذِّبُ فَلَكَ الْحَمْدُ
Which means:
'Not a single favor ...
... out of Your favor, O our Rabb,
which we deny.
As an answer to God's question.
فَبِاَىِّ اٰلَاۤءِ رَبِّكُمَا
تُكَذِّبٰنِ
"Which of the favors would you deny?"
The answer is no.
We recoginze all these favors.
