Kind: captions Language: en In a hadith, there was a Bedouin. He came toward the Apostle ﷺ. And he said, يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ مَتَى السَّاعَة “O Messenger of Allah, when will be the Hour?” The companions liked it when a Bedouin came. Because a Bedouin did not care for anything when he asked questions. The companions, they were too shy to ask. They hesitated to ask for the Prophet was charismatic. So, when there was a problem, they kept it for a long time before asking. They looked for a right time to ask the Apostle ﷺ. But not a Bedouin. “O Messenger of Allah." They would ask him directly. Or they would say, “O Muhammad, I have a question.” So the companions were happy to see a Bedouin. Sometimes we have also here a Bedouin. And he asked يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ مَتَى السَّاعَة "O Messenger of Allah, when will be the Hour?" And of course, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ had no idea about the Hour. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, مَا الْمَسْئُولُ عَنْهَا بِأَعْلَمَ مِنْ السَّائِلِ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ had no idea. The angel Gabriel had asked the Apostle. فَأَخْبِرْنِي عَنْ السَّاعَةِ Gabriel asked him. “O Messenger of Allah. Tell me about the Hour.” The Prophet said: مَا الْمَسْئُولُ عَنْهَا بِأَعْلَمَ مِنْ السَّائِلِ "About that the one questioned knows no more than the questioner." It means that Gabriel, the questioner had no idea. The questioned, Muhammad, had no idea either. The Apostle ﷺ did not know when the Hour would be. But he was asked when the Hour would be. Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ asked the Bedouin. With a useful question. The Prophet said: مَا أَعْدَدْتَ لَهَا "What have you prepared for it?" The Hour will certainly come. Whether we will experience the Final one or not. Or when we die, That is our Hour. So the question was what have you prepared for it? What was the Bedouin’s answer? مَا أَعْدَدْتُ لَهَا مِنْ كَثِيرِ صَلاَةٍ وَلاَ صَوْمٍ وَلاَ صَدَقَةٍ، وَلَكِنِّي أُحِبُّ اللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُ‏ He said, “O Messenger of Allah.” “I prepared for the Hour.” “I pray, but not much.” This Bedouin was innocent and honest. “I pray, but not much.” “I fast, but not much of sunnah.” “I give charity, but not much.” “But I love Allah and His Messenger.” “I love Allah and His Messenger.” And the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: ‏أَنْتَ مَعَ مَنْ أَحْبَبْتَ "You will be with those whom you love." If you really love the Apostle with a true love... You will be with the Apostle ﷺ. When Anas bin Malik heard this hadith... ... he said: فَمَا فَرِحَ الْمُسْلِمُونَ بشيء بَعْدَ الإِسْلاَمِ مَا فَرِح بهذا الحديث “Muslims had never been happier... ...after embracing Islam... The happiest is of course after embracing Islam. And the second happy news was to hear this hadith. So, when someone loves others with a true love... ... he will be with whom he loves. So Annas bin Malik said: أَنَا أُحِبُّ اللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُ وَأَبَا بَكْرٍ وَعُمَرَ فَأَرْجُو أَنْ أَكُونَ مَعَهُمْ بِحُبِّي إِيَّاهُمْ وَإِنْ لَمْ أَعْمَلْ مثل أَعْمَالِهِمْ “I love the Apostle. I love Abu Bakr.” “And I love Umar.” “And I hope to be with them.” “Even though my deeds are not like theirs.” “But I love them.” This hadith made the companions happy. Whosoever loves others with a true love... ...they will be with those whom they love.” Thus, be careful. Don’t put your love to just anyone. What if you really love Bon Jovi for example. Putting his posters, adore him that much. Following his life. That love is dangerous, the person comes. We become hysterical and pass out. It is dangerous, don’t love just anyone. So, loving the Prophet is a noble form of worship. It is a noble worship of its own... It may be our way to meet Allah at the Hour. It is said in a narration, said Ibnu Hajar rahimahullah... In a weak narration... The Bedouin who asked this question was the same one who urinated in the mosque. The hadith about a Bedouin who urinated in the mosque is true. But whether the one who urinated was the one asking about the Hour... There is a hadith that relates both narrations, but this hadith is weak. Got it? The hadith about a Bedouin asking about the Hour is a true hadith. The hadith about a Bedouin who urinated in the mosque is also true. But whether it was the same person... ... the hadith is weak. But there was a hadith saying it was the same person. So, after he asked the Apostle about the Hour... ... he got off and urinated in the mosque. He urinated in the mosque. Not a usual mosque. It was the Mosque of the Prophet. He urinated in the Mosque of the Prophet. Then... فبال في طائفة المسجد “He urinate at the corner of the mosque. فَزَجَرَهُ اَلنَّاسُ People were shouting. They were screaming. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, “Let him.” Relax. So, they were about to hold him, but the Messenger of Allah told them not to. If he turned to them, it would be spreading. If he was told to stop right away, it would be dangerous for him. So, the Messenger of Allah let the Bedouin urinated. After he finished, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ asked for a bucket of water... ... and pour the water to the place where he urinated. The Bedouin heard people screaming when he was urinating. He heard that the Prophet defended him. He heard it. That was why he really loved the Prophet ﷺ. He supplicated Allah: اللَّهُمَّ ارْحَمْنِي وَمُحَمَّدًا وَلاَ تَرْحَمْ مَعَنَا غيرنا “O Allah, have mercy on me and Muhammad. Do not have mercy on anyone else.” And the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: لَقَدْ تَحَجَّرْتَ وَاسِعًا "You have narrowed Allah’s mercy that is so vast.” This Bedouin admired the Apostle ﷺ’s attitude.
