Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala said:
إِنَّ عِدَّةَ الشُّهُورِ عِنْدَ اللَّهِ
اثْنَا عَشَرَ شَهْرًا فِي كِتَابِ اللَّه
ِ يَوْمَ خَلَقَ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضَ
مِنْهَا أَرْبَعَةٌ حُرُمٌ ۚ
ذَٰلِكَ الدِّينُ الْقَيِّمُ ۚ
فَلَا تَظْلِمُوا فِيهِنَّ أَنْفُسَكُمْ ۚ
Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala said:
Indeed the number of months
with Allah is 12 months.
From the day Allah created
the heavens and the earth.
Of these 12 months
four are "haram" months.
It means these months are sacred.
The sacred months.
There are four sacred months.
During these months,
wars are prohibited.
Allah said
مِنْهَا أَرْبَعَةٌ حُرُمٌ
Among these four months.
And this is the correct religion.
فَلَا تَظْلِمُوا فِيهِنَّ أَنْفُسَكُمْ
So, do not...
... be unjust to yourself
in those months.
Allah mentioned that between the 12 months
there were 4 special months called "haram."
These months, as
explained by the Prophet ﷺ ...
السنة اثنعشر شهر
مِنْهَا أَرْبَعَةٌ حُرُمٌ
The Prophet said ﷺ, "The year is of 12
months."
"Four of which are sacred."
ثَلَاثَةٌ مُتَوَالِيَاتٌ
"Three of them are in succession."
Then ورجبُ مُضَر
بين جمادى وشعبان
The Prophet ﷺ said ...
Three are in succession, and another
is separated.
The three consecutive months are
Dzulqa'dah, Dzulhijjah, and Al Muharam.
The separated month is
the month of Rajab.
It was between Djuma'dah Tsaniyah
and the month of Sya'ban.
The Islamic months are
Muharram, Syafar, Rabi'ul Awal,
Rabi'ul Tsani, Djumadil Ula, Djumadil ukhra,
Rajab and Sya'ban.
Then Ramadan, Shawwal,
Dhulqa'dah, Dhulhijjah.
