Imagine, the Prophet said:
رَكْعَتَا الْفَجْرِ خَيْرٌ مِنَ الدُّنْيَا وَمَا فِيهَا
"The two rak'ahs before Fajr are better
than this world and what it contains."
The favors that we see
at once now...
...is nothing compared to
the favors in Paradise.
It is nothing!.
While they want
what they can see right away.
And they forget about the Afterlife.
One may enjoy the world,
but shall not forget the Afterlife.
That is why, the righteous adviced...
...Qarun, they said:
وَابْتَغِ فِيمَا آَتَاكَ اللَّهُ الدَّارَ الْآَخِرَةَ
وَلَا تَنْسَ نَصِيبَكَ مِنَ الدُّنْيَا
"Seek the Hereafter,
and do not forget your world."
So, the Hereafter is the main thing,
and we also need the world.
It does not mean
that we need to be balanced.
Allah said: وابْتَغِ فِيمَا آَتَاكَ اللَّهُ
الدَّارَ الْآَخِرَةَ
"Seek your Hereafter, and do not forget
your world."
It means that we focus on our Hereafter.
As for the world, we may enjoy it.
But our focus is to Hereafter.
That is the meaning of this verse.
Many people interpret it that we need to be
balanced between Hereafter and the World.
Do not balance your Hereafter and the World
It would be our loss.
We do not do our world unless for reaching
our Hereafter. That won't be a problem.
If you want to be rich, please.
But give for charity.
You seek money for your Hereafter.
You want to get married many times,
and have many children...
... so that your children will pray for you
when you die.
Thus, we may seek the world,
but only for the sake of our Hereafter.
