Among things to show
that we are grateful is with ...
... with our work, with nice cloth.
When the Prophet saw someone
with shabby cloth, he asked:
هَلۡ اَتٰٮكَ اللَّهِ مالًا
"Does Allah give you wealth?"
He said, "Yes, Allah gives me wealth."
And the Prophet said:
إذا آتاكَ اللهُ مالًا
فليُرَ أثرُ نعمةُ اللهِ عليكَ وَكَرامتُهُ
Allah gives you wealth,
show that you are given wealth.
What does it mean?
Don't use broken vehicle
when you can afford a good one.
- Why this bad motorcycle? / - Zuhud.
It is not zuhud, it is stingy.
What is wrong with you? Allah doesn't ask
us to be this miserable.
Don't buy luxurious cars, buy a normal one.
Something pleasant, not to make
others jealous of you.
No need to show off, but show
that Allah grants you with wealth.
Wear nice cloth, use nice cars.
Normal ones.
As you can afford.
Do not hide the favor.
Every time you meet people,
"Oh, I am miserable."
Looking miserable, with debts.
So that people feel pity to us.
When a beggar come, you say
"Me too, I am miserable, not only you."سبحان الله
This is being ungrateful.
Ungrateful with your look.
Look can be our way of being grateful.
Not being arrogant nor proud.
Allah knows whether one is being grateful
or being arrogant.
So, the Prophet ask the person.
If Allah provides you with wealth, show
that Allah grants you with wealth.
It means, use nice cloth.
You can afford it, why being miserable?
Why being miserable?
If you have money, eat nice food.
Not too much.
كُلُوا وَاشْرَبُوا وَلا تُسْرِفُوا
Eat and drink, but not too much.
It is alright to eat nice food,
as long as you don't...
... do too much.
But not let yourself miserable.
You have a lot of money,
your house is still shabby.
You have old car.
Your bath room is not working well.
What is your money for?
Everyday you check on your bank account.
ما شاء الله
But your life is miserable,
your children are miserable, your wife is miserable.
Don't.
So, be grateful.
And, among things to show
our gratefulness...
... is by praying, by worshiping Allah.
Worshiping Allah.
Giving charity is being grateful.
Doing night prayers is being grateful.
Attending preaches is being grateful.
Donate for Islam is a form of
being grateful to Allah SWT.
So, remember
بِنِعۡمَةِ رَبِّكَ فَحَدِّثۡ
"But as for the favor of your Lord,
report [it].
It is alright to say it
to a friend we trust.
Praise to Allah, today
I have recieved a favor.
As long as we know that our friend is
a good heart, and is not jealous.
He is happy when we are happy.
We have that kind of friends.
He is happy when we are happy.
So, we tell him.
We don't say everything to everyone.
Not all the favor we have,
we share to everyone.
Because some people are jealous
they cannot see you happy.
He wants you to be miserable like him.
There are people like that.
You don't need to tell
about all favors you get.
When someone asks you...
... about your work,
just tell general things.
You know that the person
is in trouble.
If you tell him in detail,
he will get hurt.
"I have four enterprises."
Wow, four..
He is almost fainted.
"I have eight houses."
Good grief..
He will be more... I have four wives.
He will be more stressed.
With average look, and he has four wives.
Not all favors we need to tell others.

When someone asks you about your wealth...
Be careful. If you say you have nothing...
People will look you down.
"Poor thing, he is poor."
If you say you have plenty,
he might get jealous.
How do we face this kind of person?
Just be normal.
"Alhamdulillah, Allah gives me facilities."
"Alhamdulillah, my living runs well."
No need to be in detail.
Not everyone is ready
to hear about your wealth.
