Kind: captions Language: en انالحمد لله نحمجه و نستعينه و نستغفيره و نتوب اليه و نعوذ ب الله من شور انفسن و من شيعت اعمالن من يهده الله فلا مضيلله و من يدهله فلا هديله اشهد ان لا إلهَ إِلاَّ اللهُ وَحْدَهُ لاَ شَريكَ لَهُ وأشهد ان محمدا عبده و رسوله لا نبيئ بعده يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا اتَّقُوا اللَّهَ حَقَّ تُقَاتِهِ وَلا تَمُوتُنَّ إِلا وَأَنْتُمْ مُسْلِمُونَ فإن أصدق الحديث كتاب الله وخير الهدي هدي محمد -صلى الله عليه وسلم وشرَّ الأمورِ محدثاتُها وكلَّ محدثةٍ بدعةٌ وكلَّ بدعةٍ ضلالةٌ [ورد بزيادة] وكلَّ ضلالةٍ في النارِ معشر المسلمين، أوصيكم وإياي بتقوى الله فقد فاز المتقون The Apostle ﷺ said: إِنَّ لِلَّهِ تِسْعَةً وَتِسْعِينَ اسْمًا مِائَةً إِلَّا وَاحِدًا مَنْ أَحْصَاهَا دَخَلَ الْجَنَّةَ Allah has ninety-nine Names, from the most beautiful names. he who memorized them all by heart, will enter Paradise. We are asked to know Allah SWT’s names. To understand the meaning of these names. To apply the consequence of these names. One of the actions from asmaul husna is to pray by using them. Allah SWT said: وَلِلَّهِ الْأَسْمَاءُ الْحُسْنَى فَادْعُوهُ بِهَا And to Allah belong the best names, so invoke Him by them. Hence, for us to use them in our prayers, we shall understand the meaning of these names. So that we can use them appropriately when we pray to Him. Among Allah's names, there is Al Lathief. It means Very Subtle, Very Soft. Allah mentions Al Lathief 7 times in the Quran. The meaning of Al Lathief, People mentions it on of them, Ibnu Khoim RA, also followed by Syeikh Abd Ar-Rahman ibn Nasser As-Sadi RA, There are four meanings. The first, it means that Allah SWT knows subtle matters. Hidden and complicated matters. The second, Allah SWT brings material benefits ... ... and religious benefits to His servants, with ways that they are not aware of, with subtle and soft ways. The Third meaning of Al Lathief is that Allah SWT keeps away His servants from badness, with means they are not aware of, subtle ways, because He is Al-Lathief, the Most Subtle. The fourth, Allah SWT elevate one's rank, with unknown means, unrealized by the concerned. These are the four meanings of Al-Latief given by the Scholars. As for the first meaning, Allah SWT, Al Lathief, knows all matters whether complicated or hidden. As Allah revealed, Lukman’s saying to his son: يَا بُنَيَّ إِنَّهَا إِنْ تَكُ مِثْقَالَ حَبَّةٍ مِنْ خَرْدَلٍ فَتَكُنْ فِي صَخْرَةٍ أَوْ فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ أَوْ فِي الْأَرْضِ يَأْتِ بِهَا اللَّهُ إِنَّ اللَّهَ لَطِيفٌ خَبِيرٌ And Luqman said to his son: "O my son, indeed if wrong should be the weight of a mustard seed, and should be within a rock, or [anywhere] in the heavens, or in the earth, Allah will bring it forth. إِنَّ اللَّهَ لَطِيفٌ خَبِيرٌ / Why? Because He is لَطِيفٌ, Knows All. And what we do as small as it is, Allah will know it. Why? Because Allah said, اَلَا یَعۡلَمُ مَنۡ خَلَقَ Does He who created not know? Allah created this universe. Nothing in this universe, as small as it is, unless they are Allah’s creation. We do not need to talk about human. Animals, non-living objects. All are Allah’s creation and Allah know them all. About the animals, Allah said. وَمَا مِنْ دَابَّةٍ فِي الأرض إِلا عَلَى الله رِزْقُهَا وَيَعْلَمُ مُسْتَقَرَّهَا وَمُسْتَوْدَعَهَا “And there is no creature on earth, but that upon Allah is its provision,” "And Allah knows وَيَعْلَمُ مُسْتَقَرَّهَا." He knows its place of dwelling. On Earth, on land. On the bottom of the ocean, in a hole. Allah knows وَيَعْلَمُ مُسْتَقَرَّهَا." وَمُسْتَوْدَعَهَا “And Allah knows where he goes and where he returns.” Some of the expert in tafsir say, مُسْتَوْدَعَهَا مُسْتَوْدَعَهَا means Allah knows... when the animals are still in their mother’s womb. Allah knows about animals and plants. Allah SWT said: وَمَا تَسْقُطُ مِنْ وَرَقَةٍ إِلَّا يَعْلَمُهَا “Not a leaf falls but that He knows it.” Wherever it is. In a forest. If it falls, Allah knows about the leaf. Because Allah who created the leaf. If Allah knows about the animals, their details, Allah knows about the plants, and they are not Mukallaf, no rules for them, what about humans? Allah really knows what we do. Because we are created by Allah SWt. Allah created our eyes. اَلَمۡ نَجۡعَلۡ لَّهٗ عَيۡنَيۡنِۙ Have We not made for him two eyes? وَلِسَانًا وَشَفَتَيْنِ, We made for him ... ... his tongue and lips. Allah created our eyes. So whatever we see, Allah knows. Allah knows our blinks. Allah knows the deceit of our blinks. When one sees illicit matters, Allah knows it. Allah created the tongue. مَا يَلْفِظُ مِنْ قَوْلٍ إِلَّا لَدَيْهِ رَقِيبٌ عَتِيدٌ Man does not utter any word except that with him is an observer prepared [to record]. And Allah created our heart. Allah knows what is in our heart. Allah knows how it works. Whether it is riya', or sumah. Arrogance, humble, positive thinking. Good intention, bad intention. Allah knows them all because He is Al Latief. Omniscient, Most Subtle. He knows most complicated matters. Subtle, unknown by many people. This is the first meaning. Al Latief. He knows most complicated matters. Second, among the meaning of Al Latief, Is that Allah SWT bring material or religious benefits ... ... to a servant without him being aware. Material benefits. Allah SWT said: وَمَنْ يَتَّقِ اللَّهَ يَجْعَلْ لَهُ مَخْرَجًا وَيَرْزُقْهُ مِنْ حَيْثُ لَا يَحْتَسِبُ And whoever fears Allah, Allah will provide for him from where he does not expect. He will make for him a way out. Allah will provide for him from where he does not expect. The more he fears Allah, Allah becomes more Latief to him. The more Allah provides for him from where he does not expect. We know that there are two kinds of provision for us. The one that we expect. For example salary. We know that at that date, we receive our salary. We know when we sell things, how many profit we make. Expected provision. Predicted provision. But there lies provision that comes that we do not expect nor predict. Without us planning planning it. This provision might be bigger than what we plan. And that is from Allah SWT. He is Al Latief. And Allah SWT too ... ... brings religious benefits to a person without him being aware. With means he is not aware of, Allah gives him religious benefits. He meets a pious person unexpectedly. This person invites him to learn Quran, and he has revelation. He meets good people. He gets married. His wife goes to a religious study for the first time and receives a revelation. There are ways that people are unaware of. A person can even get revelation from his driver. There are ways that Allah gives for a person to get revelation. Therefore, when Allah mentions about religious benefits to the Prophet’s wives, Allah closed it with his words: ان الله وَهُوَ اللَّطِيفُ الْخَبِيرُ Allah SWT is the Most Subtle. Allah mentions the benefits Allah gives to the Prophet's wives. Starting from Allah's revelations: يَا أَيُّهَا النَّبِيُّ قُل لِّأَزْوَاجِكَ إِن كُنتُنَّ تُرِدْنَ الْحَيَاةَ الدُّنْيَا وَزِينَتَهَا فَتَعَالَيْنَ أُمَتِّعْكُنَّ وَأُسَرِّحْكُنَّ سَرَاحًا جَمِيلًا وَإِن كُنتُنَّ تُرِدْنَ اللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُ وَالدَّارَ And so on, until Allah said, يَا نِسَاءَ النَّبِيِّ لَسْتُنَّ كَأَحَدٍ مِّنَ النِّسَاءِ إِنِ اتَّقَيْتُنَّ فَلَا تَخْضَعْنَ بِالْقَوْلِ فَيَطْمَعَ الَّذِي فِي قَلْبِهِ مَرَضٌ وَقُلْنَ قَوْلًا مَّعْرُوفًا Allah said, “O wives of the Prophet.” Allah granted with blessing. They married the Apostle SAW. That is an extraordinary spiritual blessing. They stayed at the Apostle SAW’s house. They saw his deeds. They knew how the verses were revealed to the Prophet SAW. This is extraordinary. Allah granted them blessing without them being aware. Then, Allah gave orders and prohibited them for their own good, Allah said, يَا نِسَاءَ النَّبِيِّ لَسْتُنَّ كَأَحَدٍ مِنَ النِّسَاءِ ۚ إِنِ اتَّقَيْتُنَّ “O wives of the Prophet.” “You are not like anyone among women. If you fear Allah, فَلَا تَخْضَعْنَ بِالْقَوْلِ “then do not be soft in speech [to men], فَيَطْمَعَ الَّذِي فِي قَلْبِهِ مَرَضٌ “lest he in whose heart is disease should covet.” وَقُلْنَ قَوْلًا مَعْرُوفًا “Speak with appropriate speech.” And Allah SWT said, وَقَرْنَ فِي بُيُوتِكُنَّۚ وَلَا تَبَرَّجْنَ تَبَرُّجَ الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ الْأُولَىٰ ۖ and so on وَأَقِمْنَ الصَّلَاةَ وَآتِينَ الزَّكَاةَ.ۚ “And abide in your houses.” “And do not display yourselves as[was] the display of the former times of ignorance.” Allah forbid the Prophet’s wife to go out. To make up, going out like the ignorant. And Allah SWT said, وَاذْكُرْنَ مَا يُتْلَىٰ فِي بُيُوتِكُنَّ مِنْ آيَاتِ اللَّهِ وَالْحِكْمَةِ ۚ إِنَّ اللَّهَ كَانَ لَطِيفًا خَبِيرًا “And remember what is recited in your houses,” “of the verses of Allah and wisdom.” Indeed, Allah is ever طِيفًا خَبِيرًا Subtle and Acquainted [with all things]. Many women are not aware of this. The advices for the Prophet’s wives apply to women in general. Allah forbids them to speak with a soft voice in front of men. Allah forbids to speak in enchanted way when speaking to men. Allah forbids them to go out of the house. But they think that they can benefit from outside. They think that their happiness comes from outside. Allah orders them to read the Quran and the Prophet's hadiths. But they think that their religious benefits ... comes from watching soap opera, and reading news about artists, etc. They do not know that اللَّهَ لَطِيفًا خَبِيرًا Allah wants good for them, but they do not want. Thusعشر المسلمين، Allah gives material benefits, And religious benefits to servants whom He wants ... ... without them being aware. Among the meaning of Al latief, is that Allah SWT keep away bad things ... ... from a person with means that he is not aware of. Often people are avoided from bad things. He does not know that it is in fact better for them. He wants to do something, but Allah makes it away. Many want to win the election to be a high rank civil servant. But Allah makes him lost. He does not know. If he becomes a high-rank officer, he will sink into forbidden things. He might not be able to carry on the mandate. He might not be able to carry on what Allah trusts him to do. He does not know. Many do business, and they fell. And they lose money. He does not know, that if he makes benefices, He might become arrogant, be sinking into sinful acts. Allah want to prevent them from bad things. Many people have their profit lessened and lessened. It is possible that if he makes profit, he will open another business, and he will do riba. So, Allah make him lose money. So that he will not do riba. Allah prevents him from bad things without him being aware. He even prays to Allah. “O Allah, grant me with profit.” “Grant me with success.” Allah makes him fail, while he asks for success. Because Allah wants to keep him away from badness. Look how Allah SWT keep away bad things from Musa AS and his mother ... ... with subtle ways, that Musa AS was unaware of that his mother was unaware of. Allah SWT said, when Musa prayed to Allah SAW, and asked ... to be granted with easiness to meet Pharaoh and preach, Allah said, قَالَ قَدْ اُوْتِيْتَ سُؤْلَكَ يٰمُوْسٰى You have been granted your request,O Moses. وَلَقَدْ مَنَنَّا عَلَيْكَ مَرَّةً اُخْرٰىٓ ۙ “And We had already conferred favor upon you another time.” “When you were small, and did not understand what was good and bad.” “But I kept you from bad, O Moses.” اِذْ اَوْحَيْنَآ اِلٰٓى اُمِّكَ مَا يُوْحٰىٓ ۙ اَنِ اقْذِفِيْهِ فِى التَّابُوْتِ فَاقْذِفِيْهِ فِى الْيَمِّ فَلْيُلْقِهِ الْيَمُّ بِالسَّاحِلِ يَأْخُذْهُ عَدُوٌّ لِّيْ وَعَدُوٌّ لَّهٗ Allah said, “When I inspired to your mother to cast you into the chest, and cast it into the Nile river. This is bad. It seems bad and difficult. But it turned out that Allah wanted to keep bad from Moses and his mother. If the Prophet Moses and his mother stayed at home, they would have been arrested, tortured by Pharaoh’s troop. But Allah wanted good for Moses and his mother ... ... with means they are not aware of, A baby, when put in Nile river, would be drowned. But Allah had another plan. How often we are kept away from bad things and we are unaware. I have a friend. He was going to take a plan. He was late, stucked in a traffic. When he arrived, the plane alreade flew, and exploded . Allah kept him from bad thing. A person was going home taken by his friend to the airport. The traffic was bad. Arriving to the airport, the plane was delayed. He could have been home two hours earlier. He was late for two hours. Arriving home, a robber had stollen his gold. He said, “If only I weren’t late, I would have been able ... ... to save my gold. His neighbor told him, “You never know, what the thief will do to you.” “Do you think he is going to kiss you? Of course not.” He will kill you. It is better to lose your property than your soul. He does not know, it is Allah’s way to keep him from bad things. The fourth, my fellow Muslims, may Allah SWT bless you. Among the meaning of Al latief, Allah wants to elevate one’s rank with ways one is not aware. A real example. The Prophet Joseph AS. In the end of his story, he said to his father, يَا أَبَتِ هَٰذَا تَأْوِيلُ رُؤْيَايَ مِنْ قَبْلُ قَدْ جَعَلَهَا رَبِّي حَقًّا ۖ وَقَدْ أَحْسَنَ بِي إِذْ أَخْرَجَنِي مِنَ السِّجْنِ وَجَاءَ بِكُمْ مِنَ الْبَدْوِ مِنْ بَعْدِ أَنْ نَزَغَ الشَّيْطَانُ بَيْنِي وَبَيْنَ إِخْوَتِي ۚ إِنَّ رَبِّي لَطِيفٌ لِمَا يَشَاءُ ۚ He said, “O my father, this is the explanation of my vision of before.” And Allah was certainly good to me. He took me out of prison. And brought you [here] from bedouin life. إِنَّ رَبِّي لَطِيفٌ Allah is Subtle. Very subtle. Slowly but sure, to the highest level. Look at Joseph AS story. He experienced things that he did not like. But the goal was in fact toward happiness. He was thrown to a well by his brothers. Something bad. He was made a slave, sold with a low price. He became a servant, imprisoned. Subhanallah, imprisoned. All of this is bad. He was seduced by a woman. Imprisoned and duration of his imprisonment was extended. Allah wanted to change them all, He sent a dream to the King. The King had a dream, and this dream took The Prophet Joseph to be a minister in his country. See this. Misfortunes that end up in happiness. How often people experience misfortunes. He does not know, that Allah wants to elevate his rank in this world & Hereafter. This is what happened to the Prophet Joseph AS. In this world, we have had thing we do not like. We pray, “O Allah release me from this misery.” “Make me far away from this difficulty.” But Allah does not relieve the suffering. Allah let us in difficulty. Because Allah knows,that way, we are being elevated by Allah SWT. واستغفر الله لي ولكم ولسائر المؤمنين وهو الغفور الرحيم الحمد لله على إحسانه، والشكر له على توفيقه وامتنانه شهد أن لا إله إلا الله وحده لا شريك له تعظيماً لشانه وأشهد أن محمدا عبده ورسوله الداعي إلى رضوانه اللهم صلى عليه وعلى آله وأصحابه وإخوان معشر المسلمين If we know the meaning of Al Latief, Allah is Most Subtle, Soft. There are lessons that we can take. First, We shall be careful what to look, how to act, what to speak, what to hear, what to think in our heart,because Allah knows all. Allah knows what animals do where they live, how their provision is. Allah knows the plants. Certainly, Allah knows us. Second, we shall grow our love to Allah SWT. We know that our God is Latief. Often give us benefits that we never expect. Too often, too many. Even for the ones we don't like, behind it, there is goodness that we get. And, we try, we pray with Allah’s names. By saying, “Allah, be soft to me.” “Make goodness come to me without me knowing it.” “Keep me away from bad things, without me knowing it. By saying, ... I hope this will be beneficial. إِنَّ اللَّهَ وَمَلائِكَتَهُ يُصَلُّونَ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَسَلِّمُوا تَسْلِيمًا صَلُّوا عَلَيْهِ اللهم صل على محمد وعلى آل محمد كما صليت على إبراهيم وعلى آل إبراهيم إنك حميد مجيد وَبَارِكْ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍٍ، وَعَلَى آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ كما,باركت على إبراهيم وعلى آل إبراهيم إنك حميد مجيد اللهم أغفر للمسلمين والمسلمات و المؤمنين والمؤمنات الأحياء منهم والأموات اِنَّكَ سَمِيْعٌ قَرِيْبٌ مُجِيْبُ الدَّعْوَاتِ وَ قَاضِيَ الْحَاجَاتِ اللهم آتِ نفوسنا تقواها وزكِّها أنت خير من زكَّاها أنت وليُّها ومولاه رَبَّنَا ظَلَمْنَا أَنفُسَنَا وَإِن لَّمْ تَغْفِرْ لَنَا وَتَرْحَمْنَا لَنَكُونَنَّ مِنَ الْخَاسِرِينَ رَبَّنَا آتِنَا فِي الدُّنْيَا حَسَنَةً وَفِي الْآخِرَةِ حَسَنَةً وَقِنَا عَذَابَ النَّارِ وأقيموا الصلاة
