The Prophet ﷺ said ...
طلَعْتُ على اهل الجَنَّةِ
فَرَأَيْتُ أَكْثَرَ أَهْلِهَا الفُرَاءَ
"I looked at Heaven, and the majority
of its people were the poor."
But that does not mean to enter Heaven
one must be poor.
Many rich people enter Heaven.
For example the Prophet Sulaiman
Alaihissalam.
For example Abdurrahman bin Auf RA
They were rich and would enter Heaven.
Abu Bakar Asy Syidiq was very rich.
He too will enter Heaven.
Then why are the inhabitants of Heaven
mostly poor people?
Because many people
are tested with wealth...
They do not pass.
Many are tested with patience
in poverty, they pass.
كلا إن الإنسان ليطغى
"Indeed men
transgesses."
When he feels rich.
Many people are arrogant because they
are rich.
Many people do wrong to others
and insult them because they are rich.
The Prophet SAW said ...
الكبر والخيلاء في أهل الخيل
Pride in people
who have horses.
Owning a horse makes
the owner arrogant.
"My horse is great."
He's become arrogant.
It is just a horse.
Let alone luxurious cars.
Let alone luxurious motorcycle.
With his living style.
With his luxurious cars.
We are worried.
It's easy to trigger arrogance.
Plus luxurious house.
It is not that we can't be rich.
We can.
If someone is rich, and donates a lot,
he is at the highest place in Heaven.
But many do not pass
when tested with wealth.
But many are patient when tested
with poverty.
Which do you prefer?
Tested with wealth or poverty?
