Verily, people who fear Allah
are promised to them ...
... victory and Paradise by Allah SWT.
Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala said:
"Indeed, for those who fear Allah,
they will have victory."
What is the victory?
Reach for Paradise.
"He who is drawn away
from the Fire ...
... and admitted to Paradise...
... has attained his desire."
Allah mentions in the Qur'an ...
… many qualities of the righteous.
Among these are four qualities
that Allah mentioned in Surah Qaf.
Allah SWT said:
Allah SWT said:
“And Paradise will be brought
near to the righteous ...
... not far away (from them)."
"This is what you were promised
for those who أَوَّابٍ حَفِيظٍ."
The first quality is أَوَّابٍ
[returner to Allah].
The second quality is حَفِيظٍ
[keeper of His convenant].
The third quality,
Who fears Allah unseen.
Then,
The fourth quality , who came with a
heart returning [in repentance].
"Enter it in peace."
"That is the Day of Eternity."
Ma'syiral Muslimin,
Allah started His verses by saying:
“And Paradise will be brought
near to those who fear Allah."
Those who fear Allah will be glorified
on the Day of Resurrection.
Paradise will be brought to them.
So they can see (Paradise) up close.
As a form of respect for them.
It will be different from the infidels.
They are thrown into hell
by being dragged...
... over their faces,
sinking in Hell-Fire.
While those who believe
and are cautious ...
… Paradise will be brought to them.
It will be getting closer to them.
Then Allah SWT said:
"This is Paradise."
Some scholars say, Allah
uses the word هَذَا.
Indicating that it is close.
It means they see Paradise
in front of them.
The favors.
The beauty.
They are brought to them.
Some experts in interpretation say ...
Paradise is brought close to them
when they are still on earth.
Before the afterlife.
Their hearts always miss Paradise.
Paradise is close to their hearts.
They always want to enter Paradise.
In the afterlife, their eyes
are brought close to Paradise.
هَذَا, this is very close.
It is promised for every pious person.
Who?
People who are أَوَّابٍ and حَفِيظٍ
The first characteristic of the
righteous person is أَوَّابٍ.
أَوَّابٍ in Arabic means "Rajaa"
who always returns to Allah SWT.
Always return to Allah
in all conditions.
When he's granted a favor,
he returns to Allah.
He remembers, he is grateful to Allah SWT.
He is not arrogant and knows that
all favors are only from Allah SWT.
When he commits sins, he is أَوَّابٍ.
He returns to Allah
and does not delay his repentance.
He immediately asks for forgiveness.
He is afraid to die in the condition
not having repented to Allah SWT.
أَوَّابٍ when he has a misfortune.
He always returns to Allah.
He knows this is all the destiny
from Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala.
He knows that what Allah predestins,
is the best for His servants.
And he always has good faith
to Allah SWT.
That is the first nature of the righteous.
Then the second quality,
He always guards himself.
Some experts in interpretation say,
the person keeps Allah's covenant.
He carries out Allah's commands.
Then
And he also keeps himself away
from the prohibitions of Allah.
He does not violate them
because he fears Allah SWT.
Some scholars say ...
He remembers the sins he committed,
he does not forget them.
He remembers the sins
he committed.
So that he will always repent
and ask forgiveness to Allah SWT.
He is حَفِيظٍ
The third quality.
He fears Allah when he is alone.
When no one sees him.
When he closes the curtains.
When he locks his rooms.
He fears Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala.
This is the true خَشِيَ [fear].
The true fear of Allah.
As for the fear of Allah
in the presence of other humans ...
... it is not the essence of fear
of Allah SWT.
The true fear of Allah ...
... only appears when he is alone.
When it is easy to commit a sin.
When no one sees him.
When the curtains are pulled down.
When the doors are closed.
That's when he is tested.
Does he fear Allah from his heart?
Or only verbally?
Apparently he really fears Allah SWT.
The fourth quality
He came with a mukbil heart.
And muhlis, his heart is eager
to worship Allah.
And sincere to Allah SWT.
Those are four qualities of pious people.
Then whoever in him
there are these four characteristics ...
Then he is really lucky,
he is truly happy.
It is said to him:
Enter the Paradise with peace.
There is no worry, nor sadness, nor fear.
You will be there for eternity.
"They will have,
whatever they wish therein."
Whatever they want.
Whatever they desire.
Whatever they ask, it will be granted
by Allah SWT immediately.
"And with Us is more for the blessings
that Allah has given in Paradise."
The Prophet ﷺ said:
"When the people of Paradise
enter Paradise."
Allah SWT said to the people of Paradise.
"Do you wish Me to give you anything more?"
The People of Paradise would say, "What
else?"
"O our Lord, Hast Thou not
brightened our faces?"
"Hast Thou not
made us happy?"
"Hast Thou not made us
enter Paradise with all the favors?"
"And Hast Thou not saved us
from Fire? What else do we want?"
"Allah would lift the veil."
"So they see their Lord."
"Nothing would he dearer to them
than the sight of their Lord."

Among these four qualities ...
... what we need to contemplate about
on this occasion is ...
... fear God when we are alone.
Verily, fearing Allah when we are alone
is a noble form of worship.
Allah grants us great rewards [for
this].
Allah SWT said:
Indeed, those who fear
their Lord unseen ...
... will have forgiveness
and great reward. "
Allah said: أَجْرٌ كَبِيرٌ
Great reward.
Allah SWT said:
And for those who fear
their Lord ...
... afraid of having reckoned by Allah SWT
on the Day of Resurrection ...
جَنَّتَانِ, he will get two Paradises.
Some scholars interpret,
when someone is alone ...
... and he wants to commit sins
to Allah SWT ...
... then he remembers that he would be
reckoned by Allah SWT ...
... and he does not commit it.
He will too have two Paradises
from Allah Subhanahu wa ta’ala.
Then we should remember these qualities
especially today in this era ...
... where it is easy for one
to commit sins when he is alone.
At dawn, some young people
when other people pray at night ...
... talking to their Lord,
are invocating Allah SWT ...
... they are busy ...
... doing one unlawful thing
to other unlawful things.
Switching from one website to another.
Switching from one trash to another.
We should fear Allah SWT.
And fear the day when we will be
reckoned by Allah SWT.
Among the things that can help us ...
... to have fear to Allah
when we are alone ...
... is by remembering that
we will be reckoned by Allah SWT.
The scholars have agreed that
if someone commits sins ...
... then repents and asks for forgiveness
to Allah Subhanahu wa ta’alaa ...
... then his sin and punishment
will be removed by Allah SWT.
However, the scholars might have overseen (khilaf) whether
the record of the sins is erased or not.
Some scholars argue
that if someone has repented ...
... then the sin record will be deleted
along with the punishment.
They argue
with Allah SWT's verse.
Indeed, good deeds
do away with misdeeds.
They also postulated the words of the
Prophet ﷺ.
"Do good deeds
after doing bad ones."
Good deeds will wipe out
bad deeds.
The second opinion is opted
by the muhaqqiqin.
As mentioned by
Ibn Rajab Al-Hanbali ...
... in his book Jami'ul 'Ulum wa Al-Hikam.
That what is wiped out
is only the punishment.
But not the records.
Because Allah SWT said:
"So whoever does an atom's weight
of good he will see it."
"Whoever does an atom's weight of evil...
... then he will see it
on the Day of Resurrection.
The meaning of good deeds will wipe
bad deeds is to wipe out the punishment.
But they do not omit the records.
The Prophet ﷺ said:
A believer
is one who fears Allah.
Who will enter Paradise
on the Day of Resurrection.
They will be brought
close to their Lord.
"And Allah envelops him."
In some narrations, God envelopes him
from all beings. Only Allah and him.
Then the Prophet ﷺ said:
"So Allah reminds him of his sins."
So that he confesses his sins.
Allah SWT said:
"Do you remember doing this sin?"
The faithful servant will reply:
"My Lord, I remember."
What does Allah SWT say?
"Really, I covered it up,
I for you in the life of world."
"And I forgive it for you today."
In dzahir, this hadith shows that ...
... people will be reminded
of the sins he will have committed.
Although he would have repented
to Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala.
Then it would be really a shame
when we commit sins.
Nobody knows except Allah.
Then Allah reminds it
on the Day of Resurrection ...
... when we are being reckoned
by Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala.
What a shameful condition.
Fudhail bin 'Iyadh rahimahullahh said
...
"How shameful, O Lord,
even though You have forgiven me."
"But I am very ashamed before You."
Hasan Al-Bashri rahimahullah was once
asked about one's destiny ...
... one who commits sin
and repents and asks for forgiveness.
How is his fate in the afterlife?
Hashan Al-Basri rahimahullahu ta'ala
said.
"Allah forgives him."
"But Allah does not wipe them
from his records."
Until Allah puts him down so that
he can see the sins he has committed.
Then Allah asks him
about the sins he commits.
Then Al Hasan cried, sobbing.
Then he said.
"Even if we don't cry for the shame ..."
... when our sins are shown
at that time by Allah SWT ...
... then we shall cry over ourselves."
