launched and I'm super excited to tell
you about some groundbreaking research
about metabolism that can change your
life ever since I wrote my First Book E
to be disease people have been asking
what do I eat to optimize my own health
so today I'd like to share a few of my
favorites from my new book Eat to beat
your diet that I know help me improve my
metabolism are you ready here they are I
start my morning with a strong cup of
coffee coffee has a bio active called

blood sugar improve mood and help to
control body weight and throughout the
day I always make myself a few cups of
green tea now I love green tea and green
tea has got a polyphenol called egcg has
been shown to have many health benefits
from improving the circulation to
helping with gut health to improving
metabolism so my go-to beverages are
coffee and
tea for meals I'll choose foods that
help my metabolism and boost my health
defenses here are just a few examples
for breakfast I like to eat berries like
strawberries or blueberries now berries
contain potent bioactives like elic acid
and anthocyanin these substances have
been shown to improve
immunity I also like legumes like navy
beans and lentils and edamame they're
super inexpensive easy to cook for lunch
or dinner and absolutely delicious the
dietary fiber they contain helps lower
body inflammation and in my kitchen
there's always extra virgin olive oil I
love that fruity herbal flavor the oil
it's also good for my metabolism and
clinical Studies have shown that olive
oil can help you lose harmful body fat
and lower your blood pressure and some
of the best olive oils I like come from
Italy Greece and Spain now for my meals
I also plan on eating vegetables cooked
in delicious ways maybe sauteed and a
little bit of garlic and olive oil and
my meals contain ingredients found in
what I call mediterran style cooking
these are the recipes that come from
Mediterranean and Asian culinary
Traditions some of the healthiest food
practices in the world that means Whole
Foods like fruits and vegetables and
nuts and legumes and herbs and Seafoods

love books let me tell you I'm always on
the go and I really love listening to

that I've listened to the first one is a
New York Times best-selling Memoir
called Surrender by Bono the musician
from you two this is the story of his
life and the biggest influences that led
him to write music become an activist
and Inspire other people to work towards
a better world highly recommended
another book I recommend is called the
devil's teeth by Susan Kathy Susan
writes about the outdoor specifically
the ocean and the devil's teeth is about
her obsession with discovering why the
Falon islands off the coast of San
Francisco is one of the Gathering spots
for America's great white sharks if
you're like me and you're fascinated by
sharks this book is worth a
listen a third book I enjoy is by author
Matthew ply and his book is called Bruce
Lee a life this is a super interesting
and deeply researched biography of the
martial artist Bruce Lee and it gives
you the behind the- scen story of his
life in America when he came over here
for college and how he got into
Hollywood and television and films and
the people in instance that shaped his
meteoric rise as the most influential
martial artist that ever lived I

approach to life can help improve your
